Korespondence franču valodā Latvijas teritorijā 18. un 19. gadsimtā: Borhu dzimtas vēstuļu tulkošanas izaicinājumi

Abstract

Šis darbs ir tulkojumzinātnes ieguldījums starpdisciplinārajai Latvijas un Francijas vēsturisko attiecību pētniecības nišai. Ilgu laiku Borhu dzimtas personīgā korespondence ir bijis pētniekiem nepieejams resurss, kurš tagad ir iztulkots uz latviešu valodu. Vēsturiskā korespondence ir teksta veids, kurš piedāvā īpaša veida tulkošanas izaicinājumus. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir identificēt biežāk pielietojamās tulkojuma metodes Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu personīgās sarakstes tulkošanā. Pētījuma uzdevumi ir: skaidrot Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu 18. un 19. gs. rakstīto vēstuļu saturu, veikt Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu vēstuļu tulkojumu, noteikt Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu korespondences tulkošanā no franču valodas latviešu valodā izmantojamās metodes un apkopot informāciju par biežāk izmantojamajām tulkošanas metodēm Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu 18. un 19. gs personīgās sarakstes tulkošanā no franču valodas latviešu valodā. Pētījuma rezultāti: Borhu dzimtas ģimenes locekļu personīgās sarakstes tulkošanai no franču valodas latviešu valodā ir raksturīgi netiešā tulkojuma stratēģiju paņēmieni.

This study is a contribution of translation science devoted to the study of historical relations between Latvia and France. For a long time, the personal correspondence of the Borch dynasty was an inaccessible resource for researchers, which is now translated into Latvian. Historical correspondence is a type of text that involves special translation challenges. The aim of the research is to identify the translation procedures most often applied to the translation of personal correspondence of representatives of the Borch dynasty. Objectives of the research : to interpret letters written by representatives of the Borch dynasty in the 18th and 19th century, to perform the translation of the letters of the Borch dynasty, to identify the translation methods used in the translation of handwritten correspondence from French to Latvian and to determine the most commonly applied translation procedures for translating 18th and 19th century correspondence from French into Latvian. Results of the research: the translation of personal correspondence of representatives of the Borch dynasty from French into Latvian is characterized by the application of oblique translation strategies.
