Neuzticamā vēstījuma un pseidovēstures konstrukcija Marka Z. Daņiļevska romānā "Lapu nams"

Abstract

Postmodernā literatūra ir pazīstama ar novirzīšanos no klasiskajām naratoloģiskajām konvencijām, un Marka Z. Daņiļevska romāns “Lapu nams” ir uzskatāms par būtisku postmodernās literatūras paraugu. Romānā savijas pieci romāna vēstījuma līmeņi, kopā veidojot neparastu kompozīciju, jo pašu vēstītāju perspektīvas ir atšķīrīgas un bieži vien - pretrunīgas. Šajā maģistra darbā tiek pētīts tas, kā neuzticamā vēstījuma koncepts sasaistāms ar pseidovēstures konstruktu un kā šie abi elementi kopā ietekmē “Lapu nama” naratīvu. Maģistra darbā tiek analizēti un interpretēti vēstījuma līmeņi romānā, kā arī tiek identificēti pseidovēsturiskā vēstījuma elementi, lai izdarītu secinājumus par abu konceptu savietojamību daiļliteratūrā.

Postmodern literature is known for its deviation from the traditional narratological conventions, and Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves can be considered a good example of said postmodern discourse. The novel presents five distinct levels of narration, constructing an intricate composition of complex storying-telling, where each level of narration is simultaneously related to the other levels and at the same time, contradicts other protagonists and their narratives. The Present Master Thesis deals with the analysis of unreliable narration and the construction of pseudohistory within of the context of House of Leaves. This paper interprets and analyses the levels of narration and identifies the pseudohistorical elements therein, to resolve the link between the two concepts in literature. House of Leaves serves as a case study and an illustration to this theoretical exploration.
