Dzimtes problēmas Dž. Ostinas romānos

Abstract

Maģistra darba galvenais mērķis ir analizēt dzimtes problēmas Dž.Ostinas romānos. Analīzei tika izvēlēti romāni “Prāts un jūtas” (1811), “Lepnums un aizspriedumi” (1813), “Mansfīldas parks” (1814) un “Emma” (1815). Džeina Ostina ir nozīmīga angļu romānu rakstniece, kuras darbi ir plaši atzīti visā pasaulē. Maģistra darba teorētiskā daļa ietver dzimtes feminisma teoriju rašanās vēsturi, apskatot katru no feminisma viļņiem. Darba metodoloģiskā daļa ir veltīta feministiskās literatūras kritikai un kritiskajai diskursa analīzei, detalizētāk aprakstot teoriju rašanās vēsturi un pielietojumu. Īpašu uzmanību darba autore pievērš sievietes lomas tēlojumam Džeinas Ostinas romānos, analizējot sieviešu personāžu attiecības ar vīriešiem, sabiedrības uzspiestās normas, kā arī ekonomisko un sociālo situāciju.

The aim of the master thesis is to analyze gender issues in J.Austen's novels. Novels 'Sense and Sensibility' (1811), 'Pride and Prejudice' (1813), 'Mansfield Park' (1814) and 'Emma' (1815) were selected for analysis. Jane Austen is an important English novel writer and her novels were widely recognized worldwide. The theoretical part of the master thesis includes a history of the emergence of gender and Feminism theories, explaining each of the waves of Feminism. The methodological part of the work is devoted to the Feminist literary criticism and Critical Discourse Analysis, describing in more detail the history and application of theories. The author pays special attention to the observation of the role of women in Jane Austin's novels, observing the relationship with men, the norms imposed by society, the economic and social situation.
