9. maija atzīmēšana Latvijā (1992-2022); vēsturiskie un politiskie aspekti

Abstract

Otrā pasaules kara beigas Latvijas iedzīvotājiem saistās ar smagu vēstures mantojumu, kura izpausmes Latvijas sabiedrībā redzamas vēl aizvien. Skatījums uz šo notikumu ļoti būtiski atšķiras, kas noved pie nesaskaņām sabiedrības vidū. Viena sabiedrības daļa uzskata, ka būtu jāpriecājas par atbrīvošanu no nacionālsociālistiskās Vācijas armijas, kamēr otra sabiedrības daļa to redz kā kārtējo okupāciju. Bakalaura darbs tika izstrādāts ar mērķi izpētīt 9. maija atzīmēšanas Latvijā vēsturiskos un politiskos aspektos laika periodā no 1992. gada līdz 2022. gadam, noskaidrojot kā notika šī transformācija, kā ar to strādā politiķi un kādas tam ir sekas. Pētījuma rezultāti liek secināt, ka sabiedrība ir dziļi sašķelta.

The end of the Second World War for the people of Latvia is linked to a deep historical heritage, the consequences of which are still visible today in Latvian society. The perception of this event is based in memory, leading to disagreements between ethnic groups in society. One part of society thinks the end of the conflict should be celebrated as the country was liberated while another part of society sees it as another occupation. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to investigate the historical and political aspects of how 9 May is commemorated in Latvia between 1992 and 2022, by clarifying how the transformation of perception took place, how politicians abuse the memory and the consequences of these actions. The results of the study led to the conclusion that there is a significant division by ethnic lines in society.
