The Congolese African elite found a way to set its place in the Belgian Congo administration through the formation of a new social group: les évolués, Congolese who followed certain rules of behavior were able to join. Belonging to the group gave a certain prestige, and many Congolese wanted to be part of them to abandon their so-called ‘inferior’ status as an autochthonous group. On La Voix du Congolais, a magazine based on the rising Congolese elite ideology of 'perfected' people. The évolué status allowed common Congolese to join and access a more westernized lifestyle. In this paper, the analysis seeks to show the foundations of this movement, to study the discourse of propaganda existing in 1948 through the linguistic analysis of Relation between Whites and Blacks by Antoine-Roger Bolamba by identifying the imaginary linguistic notions, rhetorical figures, and the place for personal pronouns. Consequently, to analyse the dimensions of Critical Speech Analysis to define: what is the impact played by The Voix du Congolais speech on the independence of the Belgian Congo?
