Īpašvārdu lietojums Live Science tiešsaistes ziņu rakstos par zinātni

Abstract

Īpašvārdiem ir izšķiroša nozīme saziņā un valodas izpratnē. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt īpašvārdu lietojumu Science News vietnē Live Science. Pētījumā definēti rakstos sastopamie visbiežāk lietotie īpašvārdu veidi, kā arī visbiežāk lietotā klasifikācija, balstoties uz vājajām un stiprajām īpašvārdu kategorijām. Analīzei tika ņemti divdesmit raksti: desmit raksti no Kosmosa un desmit no Veselības sadaļas. Lai analizētu īpašvārdu lietojumu, tiek izmantota vairāku metožu pieeja. Kvantitatīvā pieeja tiek izmantota, lai analizētu īpašvārdu biežumu un to veidus, savukārt kvalitatīvā pieeja tiek izmantota, lai definētu īpašvārdu veidus. Analīzes rezultāts atklāj, ka visbiežāk lietotais īpašvārdu veids Kosmosa sadaļā ir administratīvie nosaukumi; savukārt, sadaļā Veselība biežākais īpašvārdu veids ir personvārdi. Savukārt, pētījumu analīze atklāj, ka rakstos visbiežāk sastopamā klasifikācija ir veltīta stiprajiem (strong) īpašvārdiem.

Proper nouns play a crucial role in communication and understanding of language. The goal of this research paper is to analyse the use of proper nouns on the Science News Website Live Science. The research defines the most frequently used types of proper nouns found in the articles, as well as the most frequently used classification based on weak and strong categories of the proper nouns. There were taken twenty articles for the analysis: ten articles from the Space section and ten from the Health section. In order to analyse the use of proper nouns, a multi-method approach is used. The quantitative approach is used to analyse the frequency of the proper nouns and their types, while the qualitative approach is used to define the types of the proper nouns. The result of the analysis reveals that the most frequently used type of the proper nouns in the Space section is administrative names; however, in the Health section the most frequent type of the proper nouns is devoted to personal names. Moreover, research analysis reveals that the most frequent classification found in the articles is devoted to strong proper nouns.
