Abstract

Šī darba mērķis ir noteikt īpašības vārdu un apstākļa vārdu funkciju Trampa vēlēšanu runās. Līdzīgu pētījumu ir veikusi Munezero (2017), kur viņa pētīja īpašības vārdu un apstākļa vārdu lietojumu Obamas un Trampa runās. Pētījuma teorētiskajā daļā tiek skaidroti apstākļa vārdu un īpašības vārdu jēdzieni, funkcijas un klasifikācija; sniegta runu kategorizēšana; un Trampa biogrāfija. Šī pētījuma empīriskā daļa aptver analīzē izmantoto rīku un metodoloģiju, īpaši korpuslingvistiku. Tā arī atklāj runas daļu izmantošanas tendences Trampa runās un apskata to funkcijas un ietekmi uz mērķauditoriju. Rezultāti liecina, ka īpašības vārdu un apstākļa vārdu lietošana veicina uzticības, uzticamības un saiknes veidošanu, kā arī emociju izraisīšanu auditorijā.

This study aims to determine adjectives and adverb function in Trumpean electoral speeches. Similar research has been conducted by Munezero (2017), where she examines the use of adjectives and adverbs in Obama’s and Trump’s speeches. The theoretical part of the study explains adverb and adjective notions, functions, and classification; gives categorisation of speeches; and Trump’s biography. The empirical part of this research covers the tool and methodology employed in the analysis, particularly corpus linguistics. It also discovers the trends of using parts of speech in Trump’s speeches and examines their function and impact on the target audience. The findings show that the adjective and adverb use contributes to the trust, credibility and connection building, and emotion evoking in the audience.
