Filmu izmantošana vidusskolēnu leksiskās kompetences attīstīšanā (B2)

Abstract

Maģistra darbā ir pētīta leksiskās kompetences attīstīšana valodas apguvē. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt filmu izmantošanas efektivitāti leksiskās kompetences attīstīšanai pirmajā svešvalodā B2 līmenī. Leksiskā kompetence ir būtisks lingvistiskās un gramatiskās komunikatīvās kompetences aspekts, kas sastāv no vārdu krājuma dimensijām. Vienas no visizplatītākajām dimensijām ir apjoms un dziļums, kas ietver semantiskās zināšanas par vārda sastāvu, vārdu savienojumiem. Līdzšinējos pētījumos par leksiskās kompetences attīstību, atklājās, ka tās attiecas uz filmu apskatu žanram atbilstošu vārdu izmantošanu. Rūpīga filmu atlase, mērķtiecīga plānošana un pirmsskatīšanās, skatīšanās laikā un pēcskatīšanās aktivitāšu iekļaušana bija priekšnosacījumi leksiskās kompetences attīstīšanai. Lai izpētītu izglītojamo valodas korpusus, tika veikta atsevišķā gadījuma izpēte, kas ietvēra anketu analīzi, leksikas vispārīgo raksturojumu, filmu apskatu salīdzināšanu divos līmeņos: pirmajā līmenī - rakstiskais uzdevums tika dots uzreiz pēc filmas noskatīšanās, savukārt otrajā līmenī tika iekļauti uzdevumi pirms skatīšanās, skatīšanās laikā un pēc skatīšanās. Turklāt, lai veiktu dziļāku valodas korpusa izpēti, tika analizētas skolēnu uzrakstītās filmu recenzijas. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka ar filmu aspektiem saistīti vērtējošie īpašības vārdi tika lietoti biežāk, izceļot pirms, skatīšanās un pēcskatīšanās uzdevumu lietderību vārdu krājuma apguves uzlabošanai. Apgūtā ar tēmu saistītā leksika tika izmantota filmu recenzijās atbilstoši komunikatīvajai situācijai.

The goal of the Master Thesis was to explore the effectiveness of using films for lexical competence development in the L2 classroom for level B2. The paper is devoted to researching lexical competence in language acquisition. Lexical competence is an essential part of the linguistic and grammar aspect of communicative competence, containing multilayered dimensions of vocabulary. One of the most common dimensions is size and depth, which include semantic knowledge of the structural aspects of words, collocations and connotations. A review of previous studies on the development of lexical competence revealed that it refers to using words appropriate to the genre of film reviews. Careful selection of films, purposeful planning and incorporating pre-viewing, while-viewing, and post-viewing activities were pre-conditions to enhance lexical competence acquisition. In order to explore the learner corpora, a case study was carried out that included analysis of questionnaires, general characteristics of lexis, and comparison of film reviews organised in two levels. In the first level, the learners' written task was given directly after watching the fiction film, whereas the second level included pre-, while-, and post-viewing tasks. In addition, students' film reviews were examined for a deeper analysis of the corpus. The study results have indicated that evaluative adjectives related to aspects of films were employed more often, highlighting the usefulness of pre-, while-, and post-viewing tasks for enhancing vocabulary acquisition. The acquired topic-related vocabulary was used in film reviews according to the communicative situation.
