"Dzīvot mierā un saticībā". Rīgas pilsētas muzikanti Likuma tiesas protokolos 17. gadsimtā

Abstract

Maģistra darba “”Dzīvot mierā un saticībā”. Rīgas pilsētas muzikanti Likuma tiesas protokolos 17. gadsimtā” galvenais mērķis ir sagatavot pārskatu par 17. gadsimtā Likuma tiesā izskatītajām strīdu lietām, kur bijuši iesaistīti Rīgas pilsētas muzikanti. Tiesas protokolu grāmatas glabājas Latvijas Valsts vēstures arhīva glabātavā, tās ir sastādītas rokrakstā vācu valodā un satur vēsturiskas valodas formas un teikuma uzbūvi, tāpēc šis teksts nav pieejams plašam interesentu lokam. Tekstu izvilkumi no protokoliem apkopoti tabulā par katru Rīgas muzikantu kompāniju atsevišķi. 17. gadsimta otrajā pusē Rīgā darbojās četras šādas kompānijas. Sniegts arī vispārīgs ieskats par Likuma tiesas funkciju un uzdevumiem, uzraugot, vai sabiedrība ievēro “Kāzu un apģērbu nolikumā jeb greznības noliegumā” noteiktos ierobežojumus. Aplūkots arī iesniegto sūdzību skaits un salīdzināts, cik lietās ir iesaistīti pilsētas muzikanti. Pētījumā sniegts ieskats par tiesas protokolu kā teksta veidu, apkopotas šim dokumenta tipam raksturīgās pazīmes, par izziņas avotu ņemot Likuma tiesas protokolus. Darbā aplūkota vēsturisku tekstu tulkošanas problemātika, kā arī veikts atsevišķu protokolu tulkojums latviešu valodā. Ir izdarīts secinājums, ka iespējami autentiska tulkošanas stila izveidē grūtības rada literatūras avotu trūkums latviešu valodā 17. gadsimtā, kas sniegtu atbilstošu vārdu krājumu un teikuma uzbūves paraugu, tāpēc mērķa valodas teksta stils galvenokārt balstās uz tulkotāja pieredzi un intuīciju.

The Master’s thesis “”To live in peace and harmony”. Town musicians of Riga in protocols of the Court of Law in 17th century” aims to provide an overview of the cases reviewed by the Court of Law during the 17th century involving the musicians operating in the city of Riga. The protocol books of the Court are in the care of the Latvian State Historical Archive, and, having been hand-written in German and containing obsolete lingual constructions and forms of sentences, are not generally accessible to interested parties outside of a limited circle of specialists. Excerpts from the texts of the aforementioned protocols have been condensed in tabular form for each company of musicians separately. During the 17th century, there were four such companies operating in Riga. A general overview of functions and operations of the Court of Law has also been provided with emphasis on its task of enforcing the constraints defined by the “Statutes of weddings and clothing or Denouncement of resplendence”. The complaints submitted during the researched time period were analysed with the intention of determining the extent of those involving musicians. The research of the thesis contains insights on court protocols as a distinct form of text and summarises the common properties of this type of document, basing the findings on the protocols of the Court of Law in particular. The thesis addresses the issues of translation of historical texts, as well as provides Latvian translations of selected protocols. It has been determined that development of an authentic style of translation is impeded by the lack of published work in Latvian from the 17th century that could provide an adequate sample vocabulary and patterns useful for emulating the structure of sentences. Thus, the style of text in the target language largely depends on the translator’s experience and intuition.
