Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir Terēzes no Avilas izpratne par lūgšanu un cilvēku darbā “Dvēseles pils”. Tā mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai darbs “Dvēseles pils”, kura galvenā pieteiktā tēma ir lūgšana, satur arī mācību par cilvēku. Bakalaura darbā secināts, ka darbā “Dvēseles pils” ir atrodama mācība par cilvēku. Šī mācība paplašina teoloģisko kontekstu Terēzes no Avilas izpratnei par lūgšanu. Darbā atrodamā izpratne par cilvēku pauž, ka cilvēks sastāv no ķermeņa un dvēseles. Papildus Terēzes no Avilas explicīti piedāvātajam dvēseles iedalījumam septiņos mājokļos, darbā “Dvēseles pils” ir iespējams saskatīt arī dvēseles daļu iedalījumu, kas atbilst būtiskam lūgšanas pakāpju dalījumam – dabiskā jeb ārējā un pārdabiskā jeb iekšējā dvēseles daļa, kā arī pārejas daļa. Lūgšanas procesā notiek cilvēka garīga transformācija, kas palīdz cilvēkam sasniegt savas dzīves mērķi – savas gribas pakļaušanu Dieva gribai.

The topic of this bachelor’s thesis is St. Teresa of Avila’s understanding of prayer and the human being in her work “The Interior Castle”. It aims to determine if the work “The Interior Castle”, whose main topic is prayer, contains a teaching on the human being. It is concluded in this thesis that the work “The Interior Castle” contains a teaching on the human being. This teaching broadens the theological context of Teresa of Avila’s understanding of prayer. The teaching describes the human being as consisting of body and soul. In addition to Teresa of Avila’s explicit division of the soul into seven mansions, another sort of division of the soul can be detected in the work “The Interior Castle”. This division corresponds to a crucial division of the stages of prayer: the natural or exterior and the supernatural or interior part of the soul, as well as the part of transition between the two. During prayer the human being undergoes a spiritual transformation that helps the human being to fulfill the end of their existence: to submit one’s will to God’s will.
