Abstract

Pieredzējušākām vispārējās aprūpes māsām ir lielāka pieredze rīcībā avārijas situācijās. Secināts, ka nepieciešamas regulāras apmācības, lai uzlabotu zināšanas un drošību manipulāciju veikšanā HIV profilaksē. The subject of the Bachelor's work is “nurses' experience in preventing HIV infection in the procedure room.” The highlight of the topic is driven by a high risk of HIV infection spreading and the need to understand effective methods of HIV prevention in nursing. This work aims to explore nurses’ "experiences in preventing HIV infection in the procedure room. Research tasks for this work include analyzing information on HIV infection, risk factors and prevention methods. This work required the analysis of Patricia Benner's theory to do with the subject of the work and conducting interviews with nurses working in the procedure room, as well as drawing conclusions. The posed research question is: “How experienced are nurses in preventing HIV infection in the procedure room?” The research methodology utilized was qualitative assessment and the research tool of choice was interviewing. The results indicate that despite different experiences, all nurses have the required knowledge when it comes to methods of effective HIV prevention, but their level of experience and comprehension of the risks of HIV infection can vary. The more experienced nurses are much better prepared for handling emergency situations. The conclusions say that regular training is needed to improve knowledge and overall safety when it comes to the handling of HIV and its prevention. The work consists of an introductory, theoretical part, an empirical part, a part of conclusions, a part of the literature and sources used, and a part of annexes.
