No responsīvās fenomenoloģijas pie responsīvā postkoloniālisma? Svešā jēdziens Bernharda Valdenfelsa fenomenoloģijā un postkoloniālie diskursi Latvijā

Abstract

Maģistra darbs “No responsīvās fenomenoloģijas pie responsīvā postkoloniālisma? Svešā jēdziens Bernharda Valdenfelsa fenomenoloģijā un postkoloniālie diskursi Latvijā” sintezē vācu filosofa Bernharda Valdenfelsa (Waldenfels, 1934-) responsīvo fenomenoloģiju un Latvijas postkoloniālo diskursu, kas pievēršas postpadomju rakursam. Šo sastatījumu leģitimē Svešā nojēgums: tā ir būtiskākā tēma Valdenfelsa responsīvajā fenomenoloģijā, kur Svešais ir radikalizēta, nepakļaujama un līdz galam neizzināma citādība, kas nebalstās tikai atšķirīgumā, un kas uzrunā, pieprasa atbildi un satricina. Savukārt postkoloniālās teorijas atklāj praktisko dimensiju jautājumam par sastapšanos ar Svešo un tā iespējamām sekām. Aplicējot tādus Valdenfelsa responsīvās fenomenoloģijas nojēgumus kā kārtības un to robežas, prasība un atbilde, pātiskums un Trešais un atklājot to saskares punktus postkoloniālajos diskursos, maģistra darbs piedāvā Svešā izpratnes padziļinājumu un norādi uz tā implikācijām, kā arī iesaistās diskusijā par postkoloniālo teoriju piemērotību Latvijas postpadomju gadījumam.

The master's thesis "From Responsive Phenomenology to Responsive Postcolonialism? Concept of the Alien in Bernhard Waldenfels’ Phenomenology and Postcolonial Discourses in Latvia" synthesizes responsive phenomenology of the German philosopher Bernhard Waldenfels (1934) and the postcolonial discourse in Latvia, focusing on the post-Soviet perspective. This comparison is legitimized by the notion of the Alien: it is the central theme in Waldenfels' responsive phenomenology, where the Alien is a radical, unassimilable, and ungraspable otherness that does not depend solely on difference. The Alien addresses, demands a response, and unsettles. In turn, postcolonial theories reveal the practical dimension of encountering the Alien and its potential consequences. By applying such concepts from Waldenfels' responsive phenomenology as orders and their boundaries, demand and response, pathos and the Third, and finding their common ground with postcolonial discourses, the master's thesis offers a deepened understanding of the Alien and its implications, as well as engages in the discussion on the suitability of postcolonial theories for the Latvian post-Soviet case.
