Nemonogāmu indivīdu motivācija iesaistīties seksuālās attiecībās

Abstract

Seksuālā motivācija ir sarežģīts fenomens, ko ietekmē dažādas vajadzības saistību, sociālo un ekonomisko ieguvumu maksimālai palielināšanai, kas sniedzas tālāk par tādiem acīmredzamiem faktoriem kā baudas gūšana, uzbudinājums un pēcnācēju radīšana. Mestone un Buss (2007) ir veikuši plašu pētījumu, kurā atklāja seksuālo aktivitāšu motīvu spektru. Tie cita starpā ir stresa mazināšana, nebijušas pieredzes gūšana un fantāziju piepildīšana, resursu iegūšana no partneriem, sociālā statusa un pašapziņas uzlabošana un pat motivācija, kas saistīta ar atriebības meklējumiem greizsirdības vai aizvainojuma dēļ un vēlmi neļaut partneriem iesaistīties seksuālās darbībās ar citiem. Lai gan iepriekšējos pētījumos ir pētīta motivācija iesaistīties seksuālās attiecībās dažādās demogrāfiskajās grupās, piemēram, vecāka gadagājuma pieaugušie (Wyverkens et al., 2018) un koledžas studenti (Meston & Buss, 2007), homoseksuālas, biseksuālas, transseksuālas un par savu seksualitāti nepārliecinātas sievietes (Wood et al., 2014), sievietes gadījuma un nopietnās attiecībās (Armstrong & Reissing, 2015), šis pētījums paplašina iepriekšējo pētījumu kopumu, pētot seksuālo motivāciju nemonogāmās populācijas vidū, ko pārstāv nekonsensuālās nemonogāmās attiecībās esoši indivīdi, konsensuālās nemonogāmās attiecībās esoši indivīdi un seksuālo pakalpojumu sniedzēji. Šis pētījums paplašina to iemeslu sarakstu, kas iepriekš netika identificēti, un liecina, ka seksuālā motivācija nav statiska iezīme, bet gan atkarīga no attiecību konteksta. Sexual motivation is a complex phenomenon shaped by a variety of needs to maximize relational, social, and economic benefits, going beyond the obvious factors such as pleasure, arousal, and procreation. Extensive research by Meston and Buss (2007) has revealed a spectrum of motives for engaging in sexual activities. These include, but are not limited to, stress reduction, the pursuit of novel experiences and fantasies, the acquisition of resources from partners, the enhancement of social status and self-esteem, and even motivations related to seeking revenge due to jealousy or hurt and the desire to prevent partners from engaging in sexual activities with others. While previous research has explored the motivation to engage in sex among different demographic groups, such as elderly adults (Wyverkens et al., 2018) and college students (Meston and Buss, 2007), lesbian, bisexual, queer, and questioning women (Wood et al., 2014), women in casual and committed relationships (Armstrong & Reissing, 2015), this research expands the previous body of research by exploring sexual motivation of non-monogamous population, represented by non- consensually non-monogamous individuals, consensually non-monogamous individuals and sex workers. This research expands the list of reasons to engage in sex that previously were not identified and also suggests that sexual motivation is not a static trait but rather relationship context dependent. It suggests that motivations for engaging in sex can vary based on factors like relationship arrangement, and partner status
