Abstract

Promocijas darbā “Vidzemes muižu bibliotēku vēsturiskais mantojums (18. gs.–20. gs. 20. gadi)” pirmo reizi apzinātas, sistematizētas un pētītas Vidzemes latviešu daļas muižu bibliotēkas, akcentējot tās kā muižas un tās sabiedrības ikdienas dzīves būtisku sastāvdaļu. Promocijas darbā atspoguļots šī temata Eiropas konteksts, kā arī īpaši izcelti muižu vēsturisko kolekciju pētniecības teorētiskie aspekti un ietverti aktuālie metodoloģijas jautājumi. Promocijas darbā atspoguļotas ne tikai Vidzemes muižu bibliotēkas un to vēsturiskais mantojums, bet padziļināti analizēti procesi, kas ietekmēja pārmaiņas Latvijas muižu vēsturē kā tādā, pētot bibliotēku vietu un lomu sabiedrības attīstības procesos, kontaktu un informācijas apritē, izceļot un akcentējot lokālo problemātiku. In the doctoral dissertation “Historical heritage of Vidzeme manor libraries (18th century–1920s)”, for the first time the libraries of manor estates in the Latvian part of the historical region of Vidzeme are identified, systematized and studied, highlighting them as essential parts of the daily economic and social processes of the manor estates. The dissertation provides a wider European context of this topic and highlights the theoretical aspects and questions of methodology on the research of historical collections belonging to manor estates. The doctoral dissertation reveals not only the libraries of manor estates in Vidzeme and their historical heritage, but also deeply analyses the broader processes which effected change upon the course of manor estate history in Latvia, researching the role of libraries in the development of society.
