Abstract

Maģistra darba Ārpuszemes ceļojums Lūkiāna darbā Vera Historia un Johannesa Keplera darbā Somnium: fantastikas žanra sākotnes konteksts mērķis ir izpētīt un salīdzināt Lūkiāna darbā Vera Historia un Johannesa Keplera darbā Somnium sastopamo ārpuszemes ceļojuma sižetu, to izvērtējot fantastikas žanra pirmssākuma kontekstā. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek aplūkots fantastikas jēdziena izcelsme, vieta latviešu valodā un nozīme žanru veidošanā. Tiek skatītas teorētiķu atziņas par fantāzijas un zinātniskās fantastiskas žanru un tā aspektiem. Praktiskajā daļā tiek salīdzināti fantastiskie elementi Lūkiāna darbā Vera Historia un Keplera darbā Somnium ārpuszemes ceļojuma ietvaros, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot tieši Mēness un uz Mēness esošo būtņu atainojumam. Pētījuma rezultātā tika izcelti un aplūkoti būtiskākie fantastikas elementi minētajos darbos, veikta to savstarpēja salīdzināšana, tādējādi atklājot divu autoru dažādās pieejas ārpuszemes ceļojuma motīvam un fantastisko elementu raksturojumam.

The aim of Master's Thesis An Extraterrestrial Journey in Lucian's Vera Historia and Johannes Kepler's Somnium: the Context of Origins of the Fantasy Genre is to explore and compare the plot of extraterrestrial travel found in Lucian's Vera Historia and Johannes Kepler's Somnium, evaluating them in the context of the origins of the fantasy genre. The theoretical part of the work examines the origins of the concept of fantastic, its place in the Latvian language, and its significance in the formation of genres. The insights of theorists on the genres of fantasy and science fiction and their aspects are reviewed. The practical part compares the fantastic elements within the context of extraterrestrial travel in Lucian's Vera Historia and Kepler's Somnium, with particular attention given to the depiction of the Moon and the beings on the Moon. As a result of the research, the most significant fantastic elements in the mentioned works were highlighted and examined, and a comparison between them was made, thereby revealing the different approaches of the two authors to the motif of extraterrestrial travel and the characterization of fantastic elements.
