Latvijas armijas Kājnieku pulku darbība Dienvidlatgales atbrīvošanas operāciju laikā 1919.vasara-1920.ziemā: 3.Jelgavas pulks

Abstract

Darbs ir veltīts Latvijas armijas 1. Kurzemes divīzijas 3. Jelgavas kājnieku pulka darbības izpētei Latvijas Neatkarības kara laikā Austrumu frontē no 1919. gada augusta līdz 1920. gada februāra sākumam, kad tika noslēgts pamiera līgums ar Padomju Krieviju. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izanalizēt, kā arī sniegt vērtējumu par 3. Jelgavas kājnieku pulka lomu Latvijas armijas īstenotajās operācijās pret Sarkano armiju, veicot Latgales atbrīvošanu. Pētījumā pulka darbība aplūkota ne tikai Latgales atbrīvošanas operācijas ietvaros 1920. gada janvārī – februārī, bet arī mazāk zināmās militārās operācijās, ar kurām 1919. gada otrajā pusē faktiski tika aizsākta Latgales atbrīvošana. Pateicoties labi motivētajiem karavīriem un ar iniciatīvu apveltītajam komandējošam sastāvam, 3. Jelgavas kājnieku pulks bija viena no kaujas spējīgākajām Latvijas armijas vienībām, ko tas pieradīja ar savu efektīvo darbību kā kaujās pret Sarkano armiju, tā arī pret Rietumu brīvprātīgo armiju.

The thesis is dedicated to the study of the activities of the Latvian Army 1st Kurzeme Division’s 3rd Jelgava Infantry Regiment during the Latvian War of Independence on the Eastern Front from August 1919 to beginning of February 1920. The aim of the master thesis is to analyse and evaluate the role of the 3rd Jelgava Infantry Regiment in the operations of the Latvian Army against the Red Army during the liberation of Latgale. The research examines the regiment's activities not only within the framework of the Liberation of Latgale operation in January-February 1920, but also in the less known military operations that actually started the liberation of Latgale in the second half of 1919. Because of its well-motivated soldiers and initiative-rich commanding staff, the 3rd Jelgava Infantry Regiment was one of the most combat-capable units of the Latvian Army, which it proved by its effective performance in battles against both the Red Army and the Western Russian Volunteer Army.
