Domu eksperimenti kā metodoloģiska pieeja diskusijā par kvāliju eksistenci

Abstract

Kristapa Vītola bakalaura darbs “Domu eksperimenti kā metodoloģiska pieeja diskusijā par kvāliju eksistenci” ir mēģinājums izprast domu eksperimenta būtību un to potenciālu tieši apziņas filozofijas problēmu lokā. Darbā tiek mēģināts noskaidrot, kas ir domu eksperiments, ar ko tas atšķiras no vienkārši domāšanas vai eksperimenta dabaszinātnēs. Tiek aplūkoti slavenākie domu eksperimenti apziņas filozofijā, kas ļauj saprast to nolūku un implicītos pieņēmumus. Aplūkojot apziņas filozofiju, īpaša uzmanība tiek veltīta tieši kvāliju problemātikai, aplūkojot saistītos domu eksperimentus. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot to vai secinājumi, pie kura mēs nokļūstam, veicot domu eksperimentu, ir neitrāli no teorijas.

The bachelor thesis “Thought experiments as methodological approach to question of qualia” by Kristaps Vitols is an attempt to understand essence and application of thought experiments, and their contribution to philosophy of mind. This work is an attempt to find out what exactly is thought experiment, and how it differs from ordinary thinking or experiment as such. I examine most famous thought experiments in philosophy of mind, which helps to understand their purpose and implications. Regarding philosophy of mind special attention is addressed to qualia in context of thought experiments. The objective of this work is to find out if the conclusions, which we get from the thought experiments, are free of any theory.
