Abstract

Apgūstot turku valodu, iepazīstot turku kultūru, viens no interesantākajiem kultūrvēsturiskajiem mantojumiem ir turku pirts jeb hamams. Darbā ir apkopota informācija un aprakstīta turku pirts vēsture no tās pirmsākumiem līdz mūsdienām. Darbs dod ieskatu gan turku pirts vēsturē, gan arhitektūrā, kā arī iepazīstina ar pirtī iešanas tradīcijām un rituāliem. Darbā ir atspoguļota ūdens nozīme cilvēka dzīvē, kas saistās ar ķermeņa tīrību, mazgāšanos un garīgu attīrīšanos. Interesanta ir personāla loma, kur vienas no nozīmīgākajām personām ir pavadoņi, kurus mūsdienās biežāk sauc par masieriem. Darbā ir apkopota informācija par mūsdienu populārākajām pirtīm Turcijas galvaspilsētā Stambulā, par ceļotāju iespaidiem, kā arī tradīcijām, paradumiem un ticējumiem, kas saistīti ar turku pirti.

Learning the Turkish language, getting to know the Turkish culture, one of the most interesting cultural and historical heritage is a Turkish bath or hamam. The work summarizes the information and and describes the Turkish bath history from its beginning to the present day. The work provides insight into the Turkish bath in the history and architecture, as well as presenting a walking bath traditions and rituals. The work reflected the importance of water in human life, which relate to body cleanliness, washing, and spiritual purification. Interesting is a staff role, where one of the most important persons are attendants, or now more commonly called a masseurs. The work summarizes informations on today’s most popular modern baths in Turkey’s capital city Istanbul, for travelers impressions, as well as traditions, habits and beliefs related to a Turkish bath.
