"Ira" un "ultio" Senekas traģēdijās

Abstract

Darba tēma ir Ira un ultio Senekas traģēdijās. Medea, Thyestes un Hercules Furens ir traģēdijas, kurās spilgti atklājas dusmu un atriebības motīvi, gan tēlu līmenī, gan galvenajā sižetiskajā līnijā. Pētījuma mērķis ir detalizēti parādīt ira un ultio savstarpējo saikni, darbību traģēdijas sižetā un personāžos, atklājot Senekas poētisko nolūku, kā arī ira un ultio idejisko un leksisko bāzi. Kā teorētiskais pamats ira un ultio koncepta noskaidrošanai ir paša Senekas sarakstīts filozofisks traktāts De Ira. Attiecinot to uz traģēdiju tekstiem ir izpētīts vēstījums – kā un kāpēc afekts ira vienmēr rezultēsies destruktīvā darbībā – ultio, un kas šiem jēdzieniem ir raksturīgs. The subject of this paper is Ira and Ultio in Senecan Tragedy. Medea, Thyestes and Hercules Furens are tragedies, which highly display motifs of anger and revenge in both - characters and main plot. The aim of this research is to show interconnection between ira and ultio in detail, as well as the action of these elements in plot and personages, thereby revealing Seneca’s poetic aim and the moral substance and lexical base of ira and ultio. Theoretical base for elucidating the concept of ira and ultio is Seneca’s philosophical treatise De Ira. Applied to the texts of tragedies the main message has been researched – how and why the passion- ira will always result in destructive actions – ultio, and what is characteristic to these concepts.
