dc.description.abstract | Ilgu laiku žurnāli bija viens no vispopulārākiem informacijas un izklaides avotiem. Tomēr ar interneta attīstību un tā pieejamību aizvien lielākam lietotāju skaitam parādījās alternatīvs informācijas avots- blogosfēra. Pēdējā laikā blogi ir guvuši vairāk un vairāk popularitātes, kas pat tiecas pārsniegt žurnālu popularitātes līmeni. Šī darba mērķis ir izpētīt vai blogiem un žurnāliem piemīt kopējas lingvistiskās pazīmes un kuri faktori ietekmē valodas lietojumu. Darbs sniedz minētās tēmas teorētisku pamatu, kas tika iegūts bibliogrāfiska petījuma rezultātā, un datus, iegūtus analizējot izvēleto korpusu. Nobeigumā darbs piedāvā abu mediju raksturīgo lingvistisko pazīmju salīdzinājumu un paskaidro saistības starp valodas lietojumu izvēlētajā korpusā un vispārīgām žurnālu un blogu raksturiezīmēm.

dc.description.abstract | For a long time magazines were one of the most popular sources of information and entertainment. However, with the development of the Internet and of its availability for more and more users, an alternative source of information has appeared – it was the blogosphere. Recently blogs have been gaining more and more popularity which tends to be even higher than that of the magazines. The goal of this paper is to research whether blogs and magazines share particular linguistic features and which factors influence the language use. The work provides theoretical background on this topic, gathered by the means of library research, and the data which was gained while analyzing the selected corpus. Finally, the paper provides a comparison of the linguistic features characteristic for both media sources and explains the connection between the language use within the selected corpus and the general characteristics of magazines and blogs.
