Abstract

Maģistra darbā pētīta progresīvā repa kā kultūras fenomena nozīme, kas raksturo mūsdienu sociālo un politisko realitāti. Koncentrējoties uz trim izšķirošiem albumiem - Kendrika Lamara “Good Kid, m.A.A.A.d City”, Oxxxymiron “Gorogod” un Husky “Favorite Songs of (imaginary) People” -, pētījums parāda, kā progresīvais reps kalpo kā spēcīgs sociālā protesta instruments, atspoguļojot jaunās paaudzes neapmierinātību un centienus. Ievadā progresīvais reps aplūkots pēdējās desmitgades straujo sociālo pārmaiņu un politisko transformāciju kontekstā, uzsverot tā lomu kā medijam, kas pauž nepiekrišanu un risina aktuālus jautājumus, ar kuriem saskaras jaunieši. Pirmajā nodaļā ir izklāstītas progresīvā repa vēsturiskās saknes un attīstība, izceļot tā ietekmi uz protesta kustību Krievijā un tā unikālās iezīmes, kas to atšķir no amerikāņu māksliniekiem. Praktiskajā nodaļā analizēti izvēlēto albumu mākslinieciskie paņēmieni un tēmas, atklājot, kā katrs mākslinieks orientējas savā vidē un personīgā pieredzē. Darbā secināts, ka progresīvais reps sniedzas pāri vienkāršas izklaides robežām, provocējot domāšanu un diskursu, vienlaikus veidojot jaunu poētisku valodu, kas rezonē ar jauniešiem un sabiedrību kopumā. Ar bagātīgu stāstījumu un aizkustinošu pārdomu palīdzību šis žanrs kļūst par būtisku mediju kolektīvās pieredzes paušanai un sociālo pārmaiņu aizstāvībai, veicinot dziļāku izpratni par mūsdienu kultūras dinamiku.

This master's thesis investigates the significance of progressive rap as a cultural phenomenon that articulates contemporary social and political realities. Focusing on three pivotal albums—Kendrick Lamar's "Good Kid, m.A.A.d City," Oxxxymiron's "Gorogod," and Husky's "Favorite Songs of (imaginary) People"—the study demonstrates how progressive rap serves as a powerful tool for social protest, reflecting the frustrations and aspirations of a new generation. The introduction situates progressive rap within the context of rapid social changes and political transformations experienced in previous decade, emphasizing its role as a medium for expressing dissent and addressing urgent issues faced by youth. The first chapter traces the historical roots and evolution of progressive rap, highlighting its impact on the protest movement in Russia and its unique characteristics that differentiate it from its American counterparts. The practical chapter analyzes the artistic techniques and themes present in the selected albums, revealing how each artist navigates their respective environments and personal experiences.The thesis concludes that progressive rap transcends mere entertainment, provoking thought and discourse while shaping a new poetic language that resonates with youth and society at large. Through rich narratives and poignant reflections, the genre emerges as a vital medium for expressing collective experiences and advocating for social change, contributing to a deeper understanding of contemporary cultural dynamics.
