Skaistais un ļaunais. Karavadžo darba „Zēns ar augļu grozu” estētiskā teoloģija

Abstract

Šis darbs ir starpdisciplinārs pētījums, kurā sastopas teoloģijas un mākslas vēstures nozares. Lai arī mākslai baznīcas dzīvē vienmēr bijusi ierādīta ievērojama loma, tomēr kā atsevišķs atzars estētiskā teoloģija akadēmiskajā vidē iedzīvojusies vien salīdzinoši nesen. Šis darbs tādēļ ir iedalīts divās daļās - pirmajā tiek sniegts vispārīgs pārskats par estētikas lomu teoloģijā un iespēju raudzīties uz mākslinieku kā teologu. Savukārt, darba otrajā daļā tiek demonstrētas estētiskās teoloģijas praktiskās iespējas, veicot itāliešu reālista Karavadžo darba Zēns ar augļu grozu estētiski teoloģisko analīzi. Apskatot un kritiski izvērtējot šīs gleznas tradicionālās interpretācijas, darbs ļauj nonākt pie secinājuma, ka minētajā gleznā ir attainota mākslinieka versija par teodicejas problēmu. Šādā kontekstā tad ir atrasts veids, kā iekļaut minēto Karavadžo darbu teoloģiskajā diskusijā. Tieši tas arī ir šajā pētījumā izvirzītais mērķis.

„The Beautiful and the Evil. Aesthetic Theology of Boy With a Basket of Fruit by Caravaggio” is an interdisciplinary research where theology meets history of arts. Although art has allways been of great importance in the life of church, aesthetic theology is only recently beginning to gain ground as a seperate academic discipline. Therefore this research has been conducted in two parts - Part 1 deals with the role aesthetics has played in theology throughout history and gives a perspective of artist as a theologian. Part 2 is devoted to a practical application of aesthetic theology choosing a masterpiece by italian naturalist painter Caravaggio Boy With a Basket of Fruit and analysing it from the perspective of aesthetic theology. Critical evaluation of previous interpretations of this painting leads to a conclusion that Caravaggio is using this particular painting to give his comment on the problem of theodicy. It is precisely in this context that this artwork can be included in the theological debate. To find this context is the main goal of this paper.
