Zvani un zvanīšana reliģiskajās tradīcijās Latvijā

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs „Zvani un zvanīšana reliģiskajās tradīcijās Latvijā” ir veltīts vienam no Latvijā un citur diezgan plaši izplatītiem mūzikas instrumentiem, par ko tomēr ir salīdzinoši maz pētījumu. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot zvana svarīgākās funkcijas, zvanīšanas nozīmi un simboliku senāk un tagad, iezīmējot kopīgo un atšķirīgo starp zvanīšanu tradicionālās un mūsdienu kultūras kontekstā. Darbā apskatīta zvanīšanas kā reliģiskās prakses sastāvdaļas nozīme lielākajās kristīgajās konfesijās – Romas katoļu , Pareizticīgo un Evaņģēliski luteriskajā , kā arī citās tradicionālajās un netradicionālajās baznīcās Latvijā. Tradicionālie priekšstati tiek noskaidroti, pievēršoties latviešu folkloras materiāliem, kuros atspoguļojas zvana un zvanīšanas semantika. Veicot anketēšanu dažādās grupās un izpētot interneta materiālus, tiek veikta iepazīšanās ar zvana vietu mūsdienu kultūrā. Zvani un zvanīšana, būdama svarīga reliģisko rituālu sastāvdaļa, ir radījusi diezgan īpatnēju un daudzveidīgu semantikas slāni. Daudzi no šiem priekšstatiem ir diezgan konservatīvi un ir joprojām mūsdienu kultūras sastāvdaļa, tomēr arvien lielāka nozīme ir laicīgiem un racionāliem priekšstatiem. The bachelor paper „Bells and Ringing in the Religious Traditions in Latvia” is devoted to one of the most common yet relatively seldom examined musical instrument in Latvia and other places. The goal of the paper is to identify the most important functions of the bell, the meaning of bell ringing and its symbolism in the past and now, highlighting differences and similarities between the bell ringing in context of traditional and contemporary cultures. The paper deals with the bell as an important religious components of the major Christian denominations - Roman Catholic, Orthodox and Evangelical Lutheran, as well as other traditional and non-traditional churches in Latvian. Traditional notions are clarified, focusing on Latvian folklore materials, which reflect semantics of bell and bell ringing. Through questionnaires to different groups and exploring the web material the bell ringing places in modern culture have been introduced. Bells and bell ringing, being an important part of religious rituals, has created quite a peculiar and varied semantic layer. Many of these concepts are fairly conservative and still is a part of today's culture, but the secular and rational notins are of increasing importance.
