Simbolisma iezīmes Augusta Saulieša prozā

Abstract

Latviešu literatūrā 19. gadsimta nogalē un gadsimtu mijā straujas eiropeizācijas laikā jauns mākslinieciskais virziens nenomaina iepriekšējos, bet gan savstarpēji mijiedarbojas ar tiem, bieži vien viena rakstnieka daiļradē. Iepriekš minētais attiecināmst arī uz Augusta Saulieša daiļradi. Viena no Saulieša daiļrades spilgtākajām iezīmēm ir simbolisma un reālisma virziena organiska līdzpastāvēšana. Saulieša prozā simbolisms, iekļaudamies koeksistencē ar reālismu, dažādo un bagātina viņa prozas darbu stilistisko un tematisko amplitūdu. Īpaši raksturīgas simbolisma iezīmes ir sekojošos Saulieša prozas darbos - „Pasaka”, „Spožā zvaigzne”, „Nabagu princis un Daiļā”, „Purva pūce”, „Uguntiņa”, „Veļu tiesa”, „Neaizberamā aka”, „Kaķēns”, „Pie gravas” u.c. Šajos darbos analizētās simbolisma virziena iezīmes ir simbolistiski tēli, simbolistiski dabas tēlojumi, misticisms, simbolistiska pasaules aina.

During rapid europeisation of the Latvian literature in the end of 19th century and in the turn of the century new artistic trends do not replace already existing ones, but all these trends interact with each other and very often this happens in the works of a same author. One of these examples are works of Augusts Saulietis. One of the main features of Saulietis’s writings is harmonious coexistence of symbolism and realism. Thus in his prose symbolism together with realism diversifies and enriches stylistic range of his works. The most expressive examples of symbolism in writing of Saulietis are ‘Fairy tale’, ‘Bright star’, ‘Poor prince and a Beauty’, ‘Swap owl’, ‘Ghost court’, ‘Unfilled well’, ‘Kitten’, ‘Near a ravine’ and some other. In these works one of the main features of symbolism trend are symbolic characters and images of nature, symbolic portrayals and descriptions as well as mysticism.
