Modernisma aspekti V.Eglīša un E.Virzas lirikā no 1907. līdz 1918. gadam

Abstract

V. Eglīša dzejas krājumi “Elēģijas” (1907) un “Hipokrēna” (1912), E. Virzas lirikas krājums “Biķeris” (1907) ir kā modernisma aizsākuma simbols latviešu literatūrā. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir raksturot V. Eglīša un E. Virzas lirikas krājumus, kas publicēti laika periodā no 1907. līdz 1918. gadam kā latviešu modernistiskās lirikas zīmīgas izpausmes. Veicot pētījumu par modernisma aspektiem V. Eglīša un E. Virzas lirikā, tika pētīta interpretējošā literatūra par modernisma paradigmu un tās izpausmēm latviešu literatūrā 20. gs. sākumā, analizēti minētie dzejas krājumi, raksturotas poētiskās novitātes šajos darbos. Pētnieciskais darbs tika veikts, izmantojot šādas metodes: biogrāfiskā metode, kultūrvēsturiskā metode, hermeneitiskā metode, salīdzinoši vēsturiskā metode. Kā novitātes V. Eglītis un E. Virza savos darbos „ienesa” seksualitāti, antitradicionālismu, profānā un haotiskā estetizāciju, mistisku parādību attēlojumu, mākslinieka brīvības nepieciešamības ideju. 20. gs. sākumā tapusī abu dzejnieku lirika rosināja latviešu lirikas debitantus 20. gados turpināt dzejas saturiskās tematikas un poētikas modernizāciju.

ASPECTS OF MODERNISM IN THE LYRICAL POETRY OF VIKTORS EGLITIS AND EDVARTS VIRZA BETWEEN 1907. AND 1918.

Viktors Eglitiss collected poems „Elegies” (1907) and „Hipokrena” (1912) and Edvarts Virzas lyrical collection „Beaker” (1907) stand as archetypal symbols of modernism in Latvian literature. This dissertation aims to demonstrate that the lyrical writing of Eglitis and Virza between 1907 and 1918 constitutes the most significant expression of modern Latvian lyrical poetry. In the course of this study I investigated the theoretical literature on paradigms of modernism and their appearance in Latvian literature of the early twentieth century I analyzed the collected poems and characterized the poetical innovations in these work. The study makes use of the following methods: the biographical method, the cultural history approach, the hermenentic method and the comparative historical method. Innovations in the work of Eglitis and Virza included sexuality, anti – traditionalism, profane and chaotic aestheticization, the representation of mystical appearances and the emphasis on a need for early twentieth century artistic freedom. The lyrical work of both poets encouraged younger generations of poets to continue to modernize the thematics and structure of poetry.
