Darbā „Ķermeņa funkcijas jaunākajā latviešu teātrī (2003 – 2007)” pētītas ķermeņa izmantošanas iespējas mūsdienu teātrī. Darba pirmajā nodaļā dotas vairākas shēmas, kurās veikts dažādu ķermeņa veidu dalījums (aktiera ķermeniskais „es”, skatuves ķermenis, tēla ķermenis) un to apraksts. Lai varētu runāt par situāciju mūsdienu latviešu teātrī, darba sākumā apskatītas gan tradicionālās, gan modernās pasaules teātra tendences ķermeņa izmantojumā. Darbā apskatīta arī H. T. Lēmana postdramatiskā teātra teorija un ķermeņa izpratne tajā. Turpmākajās nodaļās pētītas gan psiholoģiskā teātra tendences konkrētu režisoru daiļradē, gan postmodernā un postdramatiskā teātra estētika, izrāžu analīzē pievēršot uzmanību ķermeņa izmantojumam un tēla veidošanas principiem. The paper „Functions of the Body in Recent Latvian Theatre (2003 – 2007)” studies the use of the body in the today’s theatre. The first chapter contains some schemes, which provide the division of different kinds of bodies (bodily “ego” of actor, stage body, character body) and their explanations. To present the nowadays situation of the Latvian theatre, the beginning of the paper examines the traditional and modern tendencies of understanding of body in theatre. The paper also covers H. T. Leman’s theory of postdramatic theatre and the understanding of body in it. The next chapters examine the tendencies of psychological theatre in the creations of particular directors, as well as the aesthetic of postmodern and postdramatic theatre, paying special attention to the use of body and character making principles when analyzing the plays.
