Abstract
Promocijas darbā ir pētīta skolotāju starpkultūru izglītība multikulturālā sabiedrībā.
Pētījuma problēmu veido neatbilstība starp multikulturālo realitāti un vajadzību
intensificēt skolēnu sagatavošanu dzīvei un darbam mainīgā multikulturālā vidē: no
vienas puses, un skolotāju nepietiekamā gatavība strādāt multikulturālā klasē un
palīdzēt skolēniem apzināt izmainīto sociālo realitāti, attīstīt spējas iekĜauties šajā
vidē – no otras.
Darba mērėis – izpētīt starpkultūru izglītību skolotāju izglītības procesā un izstrādāt
ieteikumus starpkultūru kompetences attīstībai.
Pētījumā gūta atziĦa, ka topošo skolotāju starpkultūru kompetences attīstību veicina
starpkultūru principu integrācija visā skolotāju izglītības programmas saturā, nevis
atsevišėa studiju kursa ietvaros.

The present doctoral work studies the teachers’ intercultural education in multicultural society. The problem of the research emerges from the discrepancy that exists between the multicultural reality and the necessity to intensify pupils’ preparation for living and working in the changing multicultural environment on the one hand, and teachers’ insufficient readiness to work in a multicultural class and to help pupils become aware of the changed social reality, to develop their skills to become part of this environment, on the other hand. The aim of the work – to study the intercultural education in the process of teacher education and to work out recommendations for developing the intercultural competence. The research has revealed that the development of the future teachers’ intercultural competence is facilitated by integrating the intercultural principles in the whole content of the teacher education curriculum not in the content of particular subjects.
