Respondentiem tika piedāvāta demogrāfisko datu aptauja, Toronto Aleksitīmijas skalas revidētā versija TAS – 20 (The Twenty Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale, kuru autori ir Bagby, R.M., Parker, J.D.A., & Taylor, G.J., 1994), ko Latvijas apstākļiem adaptējusi Gaide, 2005 un Psiholoģiskās labklājības aptauja ( Scales of Psychalogical Well – Being, Ryff.C., 1989), ko Latvijas apstākļiem adaptējusi Voitkāne un Miezīte, 2002.
Atšķirībā no citiem līdzīgiem pētījumiem, īpaši izceļas aleksitīmijas skala – eksternāli orientētā domāšana.
Atslēgas vārdi: psiholoģiskā labklājība, aleksitīmija, pedagogs, vecums, darba stāžs The theme of the study is oriented towards the way how educators reflect their psychological well-being and to the level of alexitymia among educators. This is empirical study with the aim to find out whether there exist statistically relevant differences in the alexitymia and psychological well-being among teachers who work in their profession and those who do not work. Also to query whether there exist connections between those concepts and whether they are different between these two selections. Additionally, was observed influence of age and length of service to these variables.
In the research a group of educators was involved. (N=91, average age 37,6), which was divided into two selections. In one (N=55), educators who work in their profession and in other (N=34) educators who do not work pedagogical work. Respondents were offered to complete demographic questionnaire The Twenty Item Toronto Alexithymia Scale revised version (Bagby, R.M., Parker, J.D.A., & Taylor, G.J., 1994) – adopted to Latvian circumstances by Gaide in 2005, and Scales of Psychalogical Well – Being (Ryff.C., 1989) - adopted to Latvian circumstances by Voitkāne and Miezīte in 2002.
It is ascertain that there is no crucial difference between selections of psychological well-being. There are statistically relevant connections among separate scales of both variables. There are statistically relevant connections among separate scales of both variables and there are differences in coherence among selections. It is observed, that age of educators statistically critically forecasts separate variables of psychological well-being. But length of service forecasts separate variables of alexitymia. Unlike other similar studies one of the scales of alexitymia is particularly distinguished – externally oriented thinking.
Key words: psychological well-being, alexitymia, educator, age, length of service.
