| dc.description.abstract | Kvalifikācijas darbā izpētīju darbstaciju migrācijas no Windows XP uz Windows Vista plusus un mīnusus. Darba gaitā tika veikti sekojoši uzdevumi:
1.Veikta Windows XP un Windows Vista darbstaciju instalācija, iestatījumu konfigurēšana un tika pārbaudīta sistēmas darbība
2.Veikta Windows Server 2003 un Windows Server 2008 instalācija, iestatījumu konfigurēšana un tika pārbaudīta sistēmas darbība
3.Izstrādāts migrācijas modelis
4.Veikta migrācijas optimizēšana
5.Veikta datu migrācija
6.Veikta migrācijas lietderības un ieguvumu analīze.
Darba teorētiskajā daļā ir raksturoti Windows Vista un Windows Server 2008 plusi, kuri palīdzētu pieņem pozitīvu lēmumu migrācijai uz jaunāku Windows operētājsistēmu.
Darba praktiskās daļas uzdevumi un pētījums tiek veikts ar programmas - virtuālās mašīnas – Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 palīdzību. Darbā ir aprakstīti sagatavošanās darbi Windows instalācijai, kā arī pašu darbstaciju un serveru instalēšana un konfigurēšana.
Darbā ir viens attēls, viena tabula un 16 izmantotās literatūras avoti.

| dc.description.abstract | In Qualification work I studied the migration of workstations from Windows XP to Windows Vista pros and cons. The work was conducted during the following tasks:
1.Conducted on Windows XP and Windows Vista workstation installation, setup configuration and the system operation was verified
2.Conducted on a Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 installation, setup configuration and the system operation was verified
3.Developed by the migration model
4.Investigation of the migration system optimization
5.Carried out the data migration
6.Investigation of the migration utility and benefit analysis.
The work describes the theoretical part of Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 benefits, which help to adopt a positive decision to migrate to newer Windows operating system.
Job tasks and practical parts of the study is done with the program - the virtual machine - Microsoft Virtual PC 2007 help. The paper describes the preparatory work for the Windows installation, as well as workstation and server installation and configuration.
