Starpkultūru kompetences attīstību ietekmējošie faktori studentu mobilitātes laikā.

Abstract

Globalizācijas ietekmē starpkultūru kompetence un tās attīstīšanas iespējas kļūst arvien svarīgākas. Maģistra darbs izstrādāts ar mērķi izprast starpkultūru kompetences attīstības procesu un noskaidrot, kādi faktori to ietekmē studentu mobilitātes laikā. Tika veikts korelāciju pētījums, izmantojot no aptauju anketām iegūtos datus. Pētījuma rezultāti apstiprina, ka studentu vidū mobilitātei ir izšķiroša loma starpkultūru kompetences attīstībā, kā arī pierāda izvirzīto hipotēzi, ka starpkultūru kompetences attīstību veicina studentu mobilitātes dalībnieka zināšanas pašam par savu kultūru, augsta pašcieņa un augsta motivācija iepazīt citas kultūras. Šie rezultāti var tikt izmantoti augstākās izglītības iestādēs, palīdzot studentiem sagatavoties mobilitātei un tās iespējām.

Due to the globalization intercultural competence and the opportunities to develop it are becoming more important. The aim of the Master’s thesis was to understand the development of intercultural competence and find out the factors affecting it during student mobility. A correlation study was carried out using data collected by questionnaires. The results of the study confirm that mobility has a crucial role in development of students’ intercultural competence as well as prove the stated hypothesis that the development of intercultural competence is fostered by the student mobility participant’s knowledge of their own culture, high self-esteem and high motivation to get acquainted with other cultures. These results can be used in higher education establishments in order to help students prepare for mobility and its opportunities.
