Abstract

Šī darba tēma ir Microsoft Windows Server 2003 un Arch Linux salīdzinājums: tīmekļa servera instalācija. Tēma ir aktuāla daudziem datortīklu administratoriem un arī parastiem lietotājiem, jo mūsdien ir ļoti populāra Internet resursu izmantošana, it īpaši mājas lapu mitināšana. Lai hostēta mājas lapa strādātu pienācīgi, ir jāizvēlas piemērotāka operētājsistēma, uz kuras tiks uzstādīts tīmekļa serveris. Tīmekļa serveris ir nepieciešams mājas lapas uzturēšanai un administrēšanai. Darba pētījuma objekti ir Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operētājsistēma, Arch Linux operētājsistēma un Apache, PHP un MySQL programmatūra, kas salikumā veido tīmekļa serveri. Pētījuma laikā uz datora tiks instalēts augšupminēts programmas nodrošinājums, kas tiks salīdzināts pēc vairākiem kritērijiem. Darba mērķis ir noteikt piemērotāku operētājsistēmu servera tīmeklim.

The theme of this work is Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Arch Linux comparison: Web server installation. This theme is actual to many network administrators and also ordinary users, because nowadays the usage of Internet resources became very popular, especially the Web page hosting. For the Web page proper work, there ar many operational systems to chose from, so it would be more appropriate for the Web server to set up on. The Web server is necessary for the maintaining and administratig of the Web pages. Work research objects are the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 operating system, Arch Linux operating system and Apache, PHP and MySQL software, which makes in connection a Web server. During the research, the mentioned software will be set on a personal computer, after which it will be compared after a few criteria. The aim of the research is to determine a more suitable operating system for the Web server.
