Pētījumā piedalījās 30 sievietes vecumā no 18 līdz 50 gadiem.
Atslēgas vārdi: panikas traucējums, pašcieņa, depresija The goal of the present research was to identify whether there is a statistically significant relation between panic disorders, depression and self-esteem in women. 30 Women in the age from 18 to 50 years took part in the research. Selection criteria were based on the presence of panic disorder in the research sample. In order to verify the set hypothesis, Pearson correlation ratio was used. Research participants filled out three surveys in consecutive order. Beck’s depression survey (Beck’s Depression Inventory II (BDI-II), Beck, Steer & Brown, 1996; adapted in Latvian by Voitkāne & Miezīte, 2011) to measure depression, which one of the most commonly used self-assessment surveys for adolescents and adults for the purposes of depression measurements. To measure self-esteem Rosenberg’s Self-esteem Scale was used (Rosenberg, 1965); adapted in Latvian by Miltuze, 1996). To measure panic disorder the Panic Disorder Severity Scale was employed (Shear, 1997). The aforementioned survey was first translated into Latvian in the course of the research. The total reliability ratio of Kronbach is α = 0.96. The results of the present research conform to the previously conducted. It was found that there is a link between panic disorders, depression and self-esteem. The more pronounced the panic disorder, the more evident the signs of depression and lower self-esteem. The results reveal a link between panic disorder and signs of low self-esteem and depression. In terms of practical application of the research results, it is worth mentioning that considering the link between panic disorder and signs of depression and low self-esteem, it may be concluded that it may impede the recovery process of persons suffering from panic disorder.
