Dzimumatšķirības stereotipizācijā par praktizējošajiem psihologiem

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai sieviešu un vīriešu izlasē pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības starp sieviešu un vīriešu dzimuma psihologu vērtējumiem emocionālā siltuma un kompetences dimensijā un kādas atšķirības redzamas respondentu atbildēs, sniedzot vērtējumu par dažāda dzimuma psihologiem. Pētījuma izlase ir 120 respondenti (60 vīrieši un 60 sievietes) vecumā no 18 līdz 43 gadiem. Respondentiem tika izsūtīta anketa, kurā iekļauta itāļu pētnieku Brambillas, Sači, Kastelini un Rivas (Brambilla, Sacchi, Castellini & Riva) 2010. gada publikācijā The Effects of Status on Perceived Warmth and Competence: Malleability of the Relationship Between Status and Stereotype Content izmantotā metode, to mazliet pielāgojot savām vajadzībām. Pētījumā atklājās, ka pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības sieviešu dzimuma pārstāvju vērtējumā par vīriešu dzimuma psihologu. Taču citas statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības neparādījās. Rezultātus praktiski iespējams izmantot tālākos pētījumos, piemēram, lai izpētītu, vai arī citās izlasēs un kultūrās rodas šīs dzimumsatšķirības stereotipizācijā par praktizējošajiem psihologiem.

The aim of this research is to determine, whether gender of responder has anything to do with stereotyping on practicing psychologists, and if the answers given by respondents will change if the gender of the subject (practicing psychologist) is changed. Participants are 120 respondents (60 male and 60 female) age 18 to 43. The participants recieved survey that was used in Brambilla, Sacchi, Castellini & Rivas (2010) publication The Effects of Status on Perceived Warmth and Competence: Malleability of the Relationship Between Status and Stereotype Content. Research shows that important statistical differences were revealed when female respondents evaluated male practicing psychologist. But there were no other differences. These results are very practical and it is possible to use them in future research to find out, for example, whether these differences in stereotyping of practicing psychologists exist in other selections and cultures.
