TED runu video vidusskolēnu prezentācijas prasmju uzlabošanai angļu valodas stundās

Abstract

Diplomdarba mērķis bija noskaidrot, kā uzlabot prezentācijas prasmes, pielietojot TED runu video analīzi. Izvēlētā pētījuma metode bija gadījuma analīze Rīgas Angļu Ģimnāzijas 11. klasē. Datu vākšanas metodes bija skolēnu veidotie kritēriju saraksti, prezentācijas vērtēšanas lapa, intervija ar skolotāju un aptauja 11. klases skolēniem. Pētījuma rezultāti parādīja, ka lielākā daļa skolēnu izbaudīja darbu ar TED runām. Skolotāja atzina, ka ,skatoties un analizējot TED runas, ir iespējams uzlabot skolēnu prezentācijas prasmes. Tika secināts, ka katrai darbs ar TED runu video ir laikietilpīgs process. 3-4 TED video noskatīšanās un analizēšana nevar nodrošināt ievērojamu prezentācijas prasmju attīstību, bet var ieinteresēt skolēnus šajā procesā.

The aim of the Diploma Paper was to find out how to improve presentation skills using the in-depth analysis of TED Talks videos. The chosen method of the research was a case study in Riga English Grammar School in Form 11. Methods of data collection were students’ made lists of criteria, presentation assessment sheets, an interview with the teacher, and a questionnaire to the Form 11 students. The research showed that the majority of students enjoyed working with TED talks. The teacher admitted that it is possible to improve students’ presentation skills by watching and analysing TED talks. It was concluded that working with TED talk videos is a time consuming process. Watching and analysing 3-4 TED videos cannot ensure a notable improvement of the students’ presentation skills, but it can engage students into the process.
