Kooperatīvā mācīšanās angļu valodas stundās 12-13 klases vājredzīgiem skolēniem

Abstract

Vājredzīgie ir tikuši nodalīti no sabiedrības pārāk ilgi un tagad ir būtiski runāt par nepieciešamajām prasmēm, lai vājredzīgi skolēni iekļautos sabiedrībā un būtu spējīgi uzsākt savu karjeru un profesionālo dzīvi. Pētījums tika veikts ar mērķi noskaidrot kā kooperatīvā mācīšanās ir veicinājusi augstāku akadēmisko sniegumu un kā tā ir uzlabojusi sociālās prasmes 12.-13. klases skolēniem angļu valodas stundās. Literatūras pārskats un atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums tika izmantots, lai novērotu un raksturotu, kā vājredzīgi skolēni mācās angļu valodu tad, kad tiek izmantota kooperatīvā mācīšanās. Dati tika iegūti no anketu, novērošanas, vērtējuma lapu un testu rezultātiem. Atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums tika izmantots, lai noskaidrotu, kādu akadēmiskā snieguma uzlabojumu un sociālās prasmes ir veicinājusi kooperatīvā mācīšanās angļu valodas stundās. Iegūtie dati apstiprināja hipotēzi, ka vājredzīgiem skolēniem, izmantojot kooperatīvo mācīšanos, patika mācīties angļu valodu, kā arī uzlabojās gan viņu sekmes, gan tādas sociālās prasmes kā aktīva līdzdalība stundās, citu klases biedru iesaistīšana stundās un ieklausīšanās savos klases biedros. Visi četri novērotie skolēni atzina, ka (a) viņu pašapziņa ir cēlusies, (b) viņu ieguldījums mācību procesā ir bijis lielāks nekā agrāk, (c) viņi ir vairāk apguvuši angļu valodu un atceras apgūto vielu vairāk, strādājot kooperatīvās grupās. Pēc pētījuma datiem var secināt, ka kooperatīvā mācīšanās var būt viens no veiksmīgākajiem veidiem, kā mācīt angļu valodu 12.-13. klases skolniekiem, jo viņu akadēmiskais sniegums ir uzlabojies un viņi ir kļuvuši par vēl sabiedriskākiem cilvēkiem. Var uzskatīt, ka kooperatīvā mācīšanās angļu valodas stundās 12.-13. klases vājredzīgiem skolēniem var palīdzēt integrēties sabiedrībā un uzsākt mūžizglītību.

The visually impaired have been segregated from the society for a too long period of time and now it is crucial to talk about the necessary skills for visually impaired students to fit them back into the society and help them be able to start their career and professions. Therefore the present research was carried out and its aim was to analyze how cooperative learning could help the visually impaired students Grade 12-13 improve English and social skills in English lessons. Literature survey and a Case Study was used as a method of research to find out how visually impaired students learn English while applying cooperative learning. The sample consisted of 4 visually impaired students of Grade 12-13. The data were obtained through questionnaires, observation, evaluation sheets and data from achievement tests. Case study was used in order to find out how cooperative learning could help the visually impaired students Grade 12-13 improve their English and social skills in English lessons. The collected data proved the hypothesis that visually impaired students enjoyed learning English through cooperative learning, and their social skills, like being active and involve others in the lesson, as well as listening to others had been improved. All four sample students agreed that (a) their self-confidence had risen, (b) the effort put into learning was greater than before and (c) they could learn more and remember more when working in a group. According to the research it could be concluded that cooperative learning could be one of the most successful ways to teach English to students in Grade 12-13 because the improvement of academic performance rose and they learnt to socialize more. It can be stated that applying cooperative learning in teaching English to visually impaired students will help them prepare integrate in the society and start life-long learning.
