Video materiālu izmantošana studentu runāšanas prasmju attīstīšanai vidusskolā

Abstract

Diplomdarbs pēta angļu valodas stundās izmantoto videomateriālu lomu un ietekmi uz skolēnu runāšanas prasmju attīstību. Atseviška gadījuma pētījums tika veikts Rīgas 96. vidusskolas 11. klasē. Diplomdarba teorētiskā daļa apskata videomateriālu izmantošanas lomu un tās ietekmi uz runāšanas meistarības attīstību, kā arī to faktoru nozīmi, kuri ietekmē angļu valodas apguvi. Diplomdarba autores mērķis ir izpētīt videomateriālu izmantošanas metodes, kuras veicina runāšanas prasmju attīstību, un novērtēt rezultātus, kuri parāda skolēnu runāšanas prasmju uzlabojumu angļu valodas stundās, kurās tiek izmantoti video materiāli. Pētījuma laikā tika izmantotas dažādas teorētiskās un praktiskās pētīšanas metodes, ieskaitot literatūras analīzi, atsevišķa gadījuma pētījumu un vairākus pētījuma instrumentus – aptaujas, intervija un novērošana klasē. Iegūtie dati norāda, ka videomateriālu bieža izmantošana var veicināt skolēnu runāšanas prasmju attīstību vidusskolā. Diplomdarba izstrādes gaitā iegūtie rezultāti un izdarītie secinājumi var būt noderīgi skolotājiem, lai gūtu jaunas ierosmes videomateriālu izmantošanai angļu valodas stundās, kas raisītu tiešām aizraujošas sarunas un diskusijas pēc video noskaitīšanās, kuras veicina skolēnu runāšanas prasmju attīstību.

The present Diploma paper (DP) investigates the role and influence of video materials on developing students’ speaking skills during English lessons. The case study was conducted in Riga Secondary School No 96, form 11. The theoretical part of the DP deals with the discourse on the role of using video materials and its influence on developing speaking artistry and the importance of factors which influence English language acquisition. The aim of the author of the DP is to explore the ways of using video materials which contribute to the development of speaking skills and carry out the evaluation of the results which show students’ improvement in speaking during English lessons when video is used. In the course of the research various theoretical and practical methods have been applied, including a summative analysis of literature, a case study and several research tools - questionnaires, an interview and classroom observation. The data obtained indicate that frequent use of video materials can favour the development of students’ speaking skills in secondary school. The results and conclusions of this DP might be useful for teachers to gain insights into the ways of using video which promote really attractive follow-up discourse what is conductive to the development of students’ speaking skills.
