Lasīšanas izpratnes uzlabošana ar grupas diskusijas palīdzību angļu valodas nodarbībās pieaugušajiem

Abstract

Lasīšanas izpratne ir viena no svarīgākajām mācību daļām: skolēni saņem informāciju, izmantojot saskaņotu rakstisko tekstu. Lasīšanas izpratne prasa izpratni, kas nāk kopā ar mācīšanos kā mijiedarboties ar tekstu. Diplomdarba mēŗķis ir izpētīt, kā uzlabot pieaugušo izglītojamo lasīšanas izpratni ar grupas diskusijas palīdzību. Lai sasniegtu mērķi, par pētniecības metodi tika izvēlēts atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums. Pētījuma izlase bija 11 pieaugušie izglītojamie. Tika izmantotas sekojošas datu vākšanas metodes: dati no pārbaudes testiem un dati no aptaujam. Atbildes no aptaujas palīdzēja diplomdarba autoram noteikt izglītojamo attieksmi pret diskusiju grupās. Kaut arī viedokļi atšķīrās, nebija vienlīdzīga līdzdalība diskusiju grupā, pati diskusija bija radusi pozitīvu attieksmi. Turklāt, respondenti ir izvērtējuši grupas diskusiju kā procesu, kas stimulē mācīšanos un palīdz uzlabot lasīšanas izpratni. Ņemot vērā apkopotos datus, kas tika iegūti no pētījuma, tika secināts, ka diskusija grupās palīdzēja izglītojamiem uzlabot lasīšanas izpratni un tas tika praktiski apierādīts.

Reading comprehension is one of the most important parts of learning: students receive information through a coherent written text. Reading comprehension requires understanding, which comes after learning how to interact with the text. The aim of the Diploma Paper is to explore how to improve adult learners’ reading comprehension with the help of group discussion. In order to reach the aim of the Paper the experiment was chosen as the method of research. The research sample was 11 adult learners. The following methods of data collection were used: data from the achievement tests and a questionnaire. ABSTRACT

Answers from the questionnaire helped the author of the Paper to determine the students’ attitude towards group discussion. Although, there were several different opinions, not equal participation among the members of the group, the discussion itself had caused positive attitude. What is more, the respondents had evaluated the group discussion as a process that stimulates learning and helps to improve their reading comprehension. Based on the data gained from the experiment it was concluded that the group discussion helped the students to improve their reading comprehension, and the students had proven it in practice.
