Mācību līmenim pielāgotu darbu lasīšanu vārdu krājumu papildināšanai 11. klasē

Abstract

Literatūra piedāvā gan praktiskas, gan netveramas priekšrocības tās lasītājiem. Lieliski literatūras darbi spēj ilustrēt valodas daudzfuncionalitāti un tās skaistumu. Lasot literatūras darbus, skolēni apgūst kā ne tikai atpazīt un novērtēt dažādus valodas aspektus, bet arī iemācās tos pārvaldīt. Turklāt, lai radītu prasmīgu lasitāju, literatūra atklāj cilvēku pieredzi, kas bagātina individu. Gadījuma pētījums tika veikts Rīgas 69. vidusskolā lai noteiktu, vai mācību līmenim pielāgotu literatūras grāmatu lietošana 11. klasē varētu veicināt studentu vārdu krājuma bagātināšanu. Pētījums veikts no februāra līdz martam 2014 gadā, un tajā tika iesaistīti 11. klases audzēkņi, kopumā 16 skolēni. Testa-mācīšanās-testa metode tika izmantota, lai mācītu vārdu krājumu, izmantojot mācību līmeņa grāmatu. Balstoties uz veiktātā angļu valodas līmeņa testa, tika izvēlēts “upper-intermediate” līmenis un (“Doriana Greja ģīmetnis” pēc Oskara Vailda, pārstāstījusi Gina D.B. Clemen, uzdevumus

Literature provides both practical and intangible advantages to its reader. Great works of literature illustrate the power and pleasure of language. In reading literature, learners learn not only to recognize and appreciate these aspects of language but also to master it themselves. In addition to making one more efficient reader, literature exposes to a wide range of human experience that enriches one’s own individual character. A case study was done at Rīgas Secondary School No. 69 to determine whether graded literature in Form 11 might facilitate students’ vocabulary knowledge. The research was done during February and March of the year 2014 and involved one Form 11 class of 16 students. The test-teach-test approach was applied to teach vocabulary using graded readers. Bases on the English level test the appropriate graded level book was chosen, upper-intermediate level (‘The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, retold by Gina D. B. Clemen, activities by Justin Rainey).
