Skolotāja balss loma veiksmīgā angļu valodas apguvē vidusskolā

Abstract

Cilvēka balss kopā ar ķermeņa valodu ir galvenais mehānisms, kas nodrošina komunikācijas procesu. Skolotāja balss ar tās neverbālajiem aspektiem ir svarīgākais skolotāja darba instruments, kam ir ievērojama ietekme uz mācību procesu. Skolotājam ir jāapzinās, kādas ir viņa vai viņas balss īpatnības, jo pareizi lietota balss palīdz skolēniem labāk apgūt mācību vielu, paaugstina viņu mācību motivāciju, rada nepiespiestu, radošu atmosfēru mācību stundās un veicina pozitīvu, uz uzticību balstītu attiecību izveidošanos starp skolotāju un skolēniem. Atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums tika veikts vienā Rīgas vidusskolā un divās Ogres vidusskolās, kura mērķis bija atklāt, kā efektīva skolotāja balss ietekmē mācību procesu angļu valodas apguvē, kā arī palielina skolēnu aktivitāti stundā un vēlmi mācīties vairāk. Pētījuma dalībnieki bija 127 skolēni vecumā no 15 – 18 gadiem un 12 angļu valodas skolotājas vecumā no 25 – 60 gadiem. Informācijas iegūšanai tika izveidotas 1 anketa skolēniem,1 anketa skolotājām, kā arī tika sastādīta intervija skolotājām. Pētījumā iegūtie rezultāti atklāja, ka efektīva skolotāja balss pielietošana ietekmē skolnieku aktivitāti angļu valodas mācību stundā, palīdz labāk uztvert mācību materiālu, vēlmi mācīties daudz vairāk, klausīties uzmanīgāk, būt motivētiem un iedrošinātiem piedalīties diskusijās. Rezultāti atklāja, ka skolotājas vēlētos uzlabot savu balss efektivitāti, jo balss ir svarīgākais skolotāja darba instruments, par kuru ir jārūpējas un jāuztur formā. Ir jāzina, kurā momentā balsi pareizi pielietot, lai nerastos balss problēmas. Skolotājas atzina, ka efektīvas balss pielietošana paaugstina skolnieku mācīšanās motivāciju, palielina skolnieku aktivitāti stundā, palīdz uztvert un apgūt vieglāk jaunu mācību materiālu. Draudzīga, laipna, ieinteresēta, iedrošinoša balss palīdz izveidot labākas attiecības skolnieku- skolotāju starpā.

Human voice along with the body language is a crucial instrument for communication which allows people to convey meaning, express emotions and feelings. Teacher`s voice and its nonverbal aspects are one of the most important teacher`s tools which has a great impact on the teaching-learning process. Teachers must be aware of what their voice is like because used properly, the voice of the teacher helps students to acquire the material better, to like the process of learning, it raises students’ learning motivation and assists in establishing positive and trustful teacher-students relationships as well as creates natural, unstrained atmosphere in the classroom. The case study was carried out in one of Riga secondary schools and two Ogre secondary schools in order to examine how the effective teacher`s voice influences the English language teaching-learning process in secondary school, as well as increases the student activity during the lesson and willingness to work harder. The participants of the case study were 127 students and 12 teachers. The students’ age varied from 15 – 18 years, teachers’ age was within the 25 – 60 years range. In order to obtain the data a questionnaire was designed and given to students and one questionnaire and an interview were used for the analysis of teachers’ responses. The results of the study show that the effective use of teacher`s voice influences student activity during the English lesson, helps perceive the teaching material better, influences the desire to study more, listen more carefully, be motivated and encouraged to take part in the discussions. The results show that teachers would like to make their voices more effective because teachers` voices is the most important working instrument which needs to be taken care of and maintained. It is important to know when to use the voice appropriately in order to avoid voice problems. Teachers admit that the use of effective voice raises student learning motivation, increases student activity during the lesson, helps to perceive and acquire the new material easier. Friendly, kind, interested in the student, encouraging voice helps to built better relationship between the teacher and the student.
