Datorklases izmantošana valodas prasmju attīstībai vidusskolas angļu valodas stundās

Abstract

Datoru loma mūsdienās aizvien pieaug, un tie ir plaši izmantoti ikvienā nozarē, kā arī tiek uzskatīti par standarta instrumentu darbā, piedāvājot daudz vairāk iespēju. Problēma, kas saistās ar datoru lietošanu angļu valodas apguvē, ir to lietderīga izmantošana un vai datoru piedāvātās iespējas dod vairāk labuma nekā kaitējumu mācību procesā. Diplomdarba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai datoru un to papildierīču izmantošana vidusskolas angļu valodas apguvē uzlabo skolnieku angļu valodas prasmes, izzināt, vai skolotāji un skolēni izmanto šīs tehnoloģiskās priekšrocības un vai tās uzlabo angļu valodas līmeni. Lai sasniegtu darba mērķi, tika veikts atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums kādā no Rīgas vidusskolām. Dati tika iegūti anketējot un novērojot skolēnus, un intervējot skolotāju. Intervija ar vidusskolas angļu valodas skolotāju tika veikta, lai noskaidrotu skolotājas viedokli un ieteikumus interneta un datorklases izmantošanai angļu valodas stundās. Trīs stundas tika novadītas datorklasē, un pēc tam tika veikta anketēšana, kurā piedalījās piecpadsmit vidusskolas desmitās klases audzēkņi. Anketēšanas dati atspoguļoja datortehnoloģiju pieaugošo nozīmi, to, cik cilvēkiem mājās ir dators, un kādas ir datortehnoloģiju ieviešanas un izmantošanas iespējas, kā arī ietekme uz angļu valodas mācīšanu un apguvi. Tā kā datortehnoloģiju nozīme arvien palielinās, par to tiek arvien vairāk runāts. Šīs tehnoloģijas piedāvā daudz iespēju, bet arī rada daudz problēmu. Tika secināts, ka dators piedāvā ne tikai iespēju piekļūt informācijai, uzglabāt liela apjoma datus, lielisku vizuālo un audio materiālu izveidi, bet arī rada sliktu ietekmi uz pusaudžiem un ekonomiskas problēmas. Šo iemeslu dēļ tiek bieži runāts par to, kā vislabāk pielietot datorus mācību procesā un kā samazināt to nelabvēlīgo ietekmi.

The role of computers is growing almost in every field nowadays, and they have become widely used as well as considered already a standard tool in work offering more possibilities. The issue concerning using computers in English studies is whether they are effectively used and if their offered possibilities give more benefit than drawbacks in study process. The aim of the Diploma Paper is to find out whether and how using computers and their peripheral devices in English studies at secondary school improve students’ English skills, to research if teachers and students are using these technological benefits, and whether they improve their language level. To achieve the goal of the Paper, a case study was carried out in one of Secondary Schools. The data was gathered by carrying out a questionnaire and observing students, and interviewing a teacher. An interview with a teacher working in Secondary School was conducted in order to find out the opinion and suggestions of the teacher about using ICT classrooms in English lessons. Three English lessons were designed and lead in a computer lab, and a questionnaire was carried out in Riga Secondary School № 3. The respondents of the questionnaire were 15 students from 10th class. The received data of questionnaires from the respondents reflected the growing importance of computer technologies, how many respondents have a computer at home, purposes and effects of implementing and using them in English teaching and studying. As the computer technologies are becoming more significant, this situation is becoming more controversial. There are many possibilities and benefits computers offer, but there are also many problems they create. It was concluded that along the possibilities of accessing information, storing large amounts of data compactly, creating great visual and audio materials and many other, a computer also causes negative aspects concerning bad influence on adolescence and economical problems. As a result, there are also frequently made discussions on attempts to find best ways and right usage of computers and reduction of unhealthy effects they produce.
