Komunikatīvās aktivitātes angļu valodas vārdu krājuma paplašināšanai pieaugušajiem pamatlīmenī

Abstract

Diploma darba tēma ir ‘Angļu valodas vārdu krājumu paplašināšana ar komunikatīvam aktivitātēm elementāra līmeņa pieaugušiem studentiem’. Mūsdienīga pieeja valodas apguvē ir virzīta uz mērķtiecīgu vārdu krājuma mācīšanu, kas atbilst studentu vajadzībām un vēlmēm. Diploma darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā komunikatīvās aktivitātes sekmē vārdu krājuma mācīšanu Elementārā līmeņa studentiem. Atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums tika veikts grupā ar elementāra zināšanu līmeņa pieaugušajiem studentiem “International House Riga Satva” angļu valodas kursos vienu mēnešu garumā. Datu vākšanai tika pielietotas vairākas metodes: •Intervija – lai uzzinātu pieredzes pasniedzēju viedokli par vārdu krājuma paplašināšanu ar komunikatīvajiem vingrinājumiem. •Pirms- un pēc- pārbaudes testi – lai pārbaudītu vārdu krājuma zināšanu līmeni pirms un pēc darba veikšanas. Atsevišķa gadījuma dati pierādīja izvēlēto komunikatīvo aktivitāšu efektivitāti vārdu krājuma apguves procesā, ņemot vērā studentu vajadzības un vēlmes. Analizējot pēc-testēšanas, autors ir izdarījis secinājumu, ka izvēlētās komunikatīvās aktivitātes ir izklaidējošas un viegli iegaumējamas, un tās sekmīgs risinājums vārdu krājuma apmācībā pieaugušiem studentiem. Minētie novērojumi un analīzes ļauj autoram secināt, ka pareizi izvēlētas komunikatīvās aktivitātes veicina motivējošu un efektīvu vārdu krājuma apguves procesu.

The topic of the Diploma Paper is ‘Teaching English Vocabulary through Communicative Activities on Elementary Level Adult Students’. Nowadays it is acknowledged that teaching vocabulary must meet the students’ needs and wants. The aim of the Diploma Paper is to explore how communicative activities contribute to vocabulary teaching of elementary level adult students. The case study was conducted at the English Language Courses ‘IH Riga Satva’ during one month with elementary level adult students. Several methods were used in order to collect the data: •Interview- to find out the experienced teachers’ opinion on the teaching of vocabulary through communicative activities. •Pre- and post-tests – to check the level of vocabulary knowledge before and after the conducted work. The data of the case study proved the efficiency of the selected communicative activities in the vocabulary acquisition process, as it has met the students’ wants and needs. After post-testing the students, the author has come to the conclusion that the selected communicative activities which are entertaining and memorable is an effective means for teaching vocabulary to adult students. The mentioned observations and analysis have led the author to the conclusion that the right choice of communicative activities makes the vocabulary acquisition process motivating and effective.
