Autentisko audio materiālu izmantošana skolēnu klausīšanās prasmju pilnveidei angļu valodas stundās vidusskolā

Abstract

Diplomdarba tēma ir „Autentisko audio materiālu izmantošana skolēnu klausīšanās prasmju pilnveidei angļu valodas stundās vidusskolā”. Autore ir izvēlējusies šādu tēmu, jo tiek uzskatīts, ka autentiskie audio materiāli ir tuvi īstai valodai. Tas nozīmē, ka izmantojot autentiskos audio materiālu angļu valodas stundās, skolēniem tiks dota iespēja dzirdēt dzīvu runāto valodu, tādu kāda tā normāli tiek lietota ikdienas komunikācijā. Diplomdarba autore nolēma noskaidrot skolēnu un skolotāju viedokli par autentisko audio materiālu izmantošanas nepieciešamību angļu valodas stundās. Izvēlētā pētījuma metode ir atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums. Tas tika veikt Elejas Vidusskolā no 2008. gada janvāra līdz 2008. gada aprīlim. Elejas vidusskolas skolēni un skolotāji tika lūgti aizpildīt anketu, lai noskaidrotu viņu viedokli par autentisko audio materiālu izmantošanas nepieciešamību angļu valodas stundās. Kopumā 85 respondenti piedalījās aptaujā. Autore izmēģināja 8 autentiskos audio materiālus Elejas vidusskolas 10. un 11. klasē, 5 no tiem ir aprakstīti un analizēti sīkāk. Pēc datu savākšanas, apkopošanas un izanalizēšanas autore noskaidroja, ka skolēni ir ievērojuši skolotājus lietojam autentiskos audio materiālus stundās. Skolēniem ir noteikts priekšstats, kas ir autentisks audio materiāls. Gan skolēni, gan skolotāji ir pārliecināti, ka autentiskie audio materiāli būtu jāizmanto angļu valodas stundās, jo tie paplašina zināšanas, uzlabo skolēnu atmiņu, kā arī pilnveido skolēnu klausīšanās prasmes. Diplomdarba autore ir pilnīgi pārliecināta, ka autentiskie audio materiāli iedrošina skolēnus klausīties svešvalodā. Autentiskie audio materiāli būtu jāizmanto angļu valodas stundās, jo tie iepazīstina skolēnus ar dažādiem akcentiem un valodas īpatnībām. Tie var uzlabot skolēnu izrunu, pilnveidot vārdu krājumu un vispārīgās zināšanas par pasauli.

The theme of the Diploma paper is ‘Authentic Audio Materials for Improving Students’ Listening Skills in English Language Lessons at Secondary school’. The author has chosen this theme because it is believed that authentic audio materials are close to the real language. It means that students have the opportunities to hear live spoken language as it is normally used in the every day communication. The author of the Diploma paper decided to find out the opinion of the students and teachers about the usage of authentic audio materials and the necessity of them in English language lessons. The chosen research method is a case study. It was carried out in Eleja Secondary School from January 2008 till the April 2008. The teachers and the students were asked to fill in the questionnaires in order to find out their opinion about the usage and necessity of authentic audio materials in the English language lessons. Overall, 85 respondents filled in the questionnaires. The author also implemented eight authentic audio materials in Eleja Secondary School Grade 10 and Grade 11. Five of them are described and analyzed. After gathering and analyzing the data, the author of the Diploma paper found out that the students have noticed the teachers using authentic audio materials in the lessons. Students have clear concept of what is authentic audio material. The teachers and students are sure that authentic audio materials should be used in the English language lessons, as they broadens the knowledge and improves students’ memory and listening skills. The author of the Diploma paper is sure that authentic audio materials can encourage students to listen more in the second language. The authentic materials should be used in English language lessons, because they can introduce students with different accents and the peculiarities of the language. They can improve students’ pronunciation, vocabulary and general knowledge about the world.
