Kritiskās domāšanas paņēmieni skolēnu runāšanas prasmju pilnveidei angļu valodas stundās 10.klasē

Abstract

Diplomdarba mērķis ir atklāt iespējas pilnveidot skolēnu runāšanas prasmes, izmantojot kritiskās domāšanas paņēmienus. Diplomdarbs tika izstrādāts, lai izpētītu kādi kritiskās domāšanas paņēmieni var būt izmantoti angļu valodas stundās, kādi paņēmieni ietekme skolēnu runāšanas prasmju uzlabošanu un izpētītu skolēnu runāšanas prasmju dinamiku angļu valodas stundās. Runāšana veicina skolēnu domāšanu un vārdu krājuma praktisko pielietošanu. Runāšanas prasmju attīstība ir ļoti svarīga, jo bez runāšanas prasmju attīstības skolēni nevar komunicēt un izteikt savas domas un viedokli. Prasme skaidri un efektīvi sazināties svešvalodā veicina skolēnu veiksmīgumu skolā un citos dzīves posmos. Pielietojot kritiskās domāšanas paņēmienus, mācību process kļūst aizraujošāks un atraktīvāks, vienlaicīgi tas motivē skolēnus runāt, kas savukārt pilnveido runāšanas prasmes. Diplomdarbā, kā pētījuma metode tika izmantots atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums. Datu iegūšanas metodes ir novērošana, anketa un stundas vērtēšanas lapa. Anketā uzdotie jautājumi atklāja vidusskolas skolēnu viedokli par angļu valodas mācīšanos skolā un runāšanas prasmju attīstīšanas iespējām angļu valodas stundu laikā. Stundas vērtēšanas lapa tika izstrādāta un izmantota, lai izpētītu skolēnu viedokli par iesaistīšanos kritiskās domāšanas aktivitātēs un to lietderīguma apkopošanai. Atsevišķa gadījuma pētījuma gaitā tika pieradīts, ka kritiskās domāšanas paņēmienu pielietošana stundās motivē skolēnus runāt un izteikt savu viedokli, kas savukārt pilnveido skolēnu runāšanas prasmes. Pēc divu mēnešu pētījuma laika skolēni kļuva drošāki un pārliecinošāki, izmantojot runāšanas prasmes. Piedaloties pētījumā, skolēni kļuva motivētāki, izsakot savu viedokli un ir jūtama viņu vārdu krājuma dinamika.

The aim of the Diploma paper is to reveal the possibilities of improving students’ speaking skills while using critical thinking techniques. The Diploma paper was worked out in order to study which critical thinking techniques can be used at English lessons, which techniques influence the improvement of students’ speaking skills and to explore the dynamics of students’ speaking skills at English lessons. Speaking promotes students’ thinking and practical application of the vocabulary. The development of speaking skills is very important because without developing speaking skills students are unable to communicate and express their thoughts and opinions. The skill to communicate clearly and effectively in the foreign language facilitates the students’ success at school and other stages of their lives. The use of critical thinking techniques makes the teaching/learning process more exciting and attractive and at the same time motives students for speaking which, in its turn, improves their speaking skills. A case study was used in the Diploma paper as a research method. The data collection methods were the questionnaire, observation and the lesson reflection sheet. The questions included in the questionnaire revealed the secondary school students’ opinion about teaching English at school and the possibilities of developing their speaking skills at English lessons. The lesson reflection sheet was worked out and used in order to study the students’ opinion about their involvement in critical thinking –based activities and to summarize the usefulness of these activities. The case study proved that the use of critical thinking techniques at lessons motivates students to speak and express their opinion, which in its turn, improves the students’ speaking skills. After the case study that lasted for two months students have become braver and more confident when speaking. Participating in the study the students have become more motivated to express their opinions; the dynamics of their vocabulary is seen.
