Cēsu pilsētas veidošanās un attīstība 13.-16. gs.

Abstract

Maģistra darbs „Cēsu pilsētas veidošanās un attīstība no 13. gs. sākuma līdz 16. gs.” apskata Cēsu pilsētas izveidošanos un tās turpmāko attīstību Livonijā. Darbā raksturoti Cēsu pilsētas izveidošanās un attīstības apstākļi un laiks, izvērtējot apdzīvotās vietas un vēlākās pilsētas saimniecību, politisko statusu, plānojumu, sociālo elementu un reliģisko dzīvi. Pētījuma rezultāti apliecina, ka Cēsu apdzīvotā vieta visu 13. gs. veidojusies kā pilsmiests un par pilsētu pirmoreiz dēvēta tikai 1314. gadā. Vairāk kā trīs gadsimtus ordeņa pils tuvums noteica pilsētas attīstību, sekmējot tirdzniecību, kas bija pilsētas izaugsmes stūrakmens. Paralēli neparasti izteiktajai reliģiskajai dzīvei, pilsētai gadsimtu gaitā izveidojās viduslaikiem tipiskas pilsētas plānojums, kura būtiskākie elementi bija pilsētas baznīca, rātsnams un mūris.

The present master paper „Establishment and Development of Cēsis City from 13th till 16th Century” views the establishment of Cēsis city and its further development in Livonia. The paper describes the conditions and époque of foundation and development of Cēsis, assessing economy, political status, planning, social elements and religious life of the populated area and later the city. The results of the research verify that the populated area Cēsis developed during the 13th century as a village near the castle and the place was first referred to as a city only in 1314. More than three centuries the development of the city was significantly impacted by the closeness of the order’s castle that promoted trade which served as the basis for the development of the city. Along with uncommonly active religious life the city was developed in accordance with the typical medieval city planning principles, the main elements of which were the city church, city hall and stone wall.
