Bankas valūtas operācijas un to izmantošana valūtas riska pārvaldībā

Abstract

Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt banku valūtas operācijas un to izmantošanu valūtas riska pārvaldībā, lai izstrādātu priekšlikumus valūtas operāciju pilnveidošanai un valūtas riska efektīvākai pārvaldībai. Mērķa sasniegšanai autore izvirzīja šādus uzdevumus: formulēt riska būtību, veidus un raksturot riska novērtēšanas uzdevumus; apskatīt kādus valūtas darījumus piedāvā komercbankas pasaulē un Latvijā; analizēt riskus, kas saistīti ar banku valūtas darījumiem un izpētīt, kā izmantot valūtas darījumus, lai šos riskus mazinātu; analizēt valūtas riska pārvaldības iespējas Latvijas komercbankās; noskaidrot Latvijas komercbanku nostāju valūtas riska pārvaldības jautājumos un analizēt Latvijas Bankas ieteikumus valūtas riska mazināšanai komercbankām. Diplomdarbs sastāv no trim nodaļām un apakšnodaļām. Diplomdarba pirmā nodaļā tiek rakstīts par komercbanku valūtas operāciju darījumu veidiem, otrā nodaļa tiek veltīta jautājumam, par to, kā samazināt valūtas riskus, izmantojot hedžēšanu un atvasinātos finanšu instrumentus. Trešā nodaļā autore pētīja piedāvātās valūtas operācijas Latvijas komercbankās un analizēja Latvijas banku kopējo pakļautību valūtas riskam. Uzdevumu risināšanai tika izmantotas un pielietotas monogrāfiskā un ekspertu metode, ekonomiskā analīze, statistikas datu izpēte un analīze, problēmu analīze. Darba mērķu un uzdevumu īstenošanai izmantota teorētiskā literatūra, jaunākā zinātniskā literatūra un publikācijas, zinātniskās monogrāfijas un publikācijas par Latvijas Banku, Starptautisko valūtas fondu, kā arī A/S „Hansabanka” klientu apkalpošanas nodaļas vadītājas Madaras Gūtšmites sniegtā informācija par A/S „Hansabanka” piedāvātajām valūtas operācijām un riska mazināšanas darījumiem, lai izdarītu secinājumus, sistematizētu un teorētiski pamatotu gan citu autoru, gan savus personiskos pētījumus un pieredzi.

The goal of Diploma Work is to investigate the currency operations of banks and their usage in a management of currency risk to work out proposals for the improvement of currency operations and more effective manegement of currency risk. For achieving the goal, the Author advanced such tasks: to formulate the essence and kinds of the risk, and to characterize tasks of risk evaluation to review what currency deals are proposed in commerce banks in the World and Latvia, to analyze risks that are connected with currency deals of banks and to investigate how to use currency deals to reduce risks of those deals; to analyze management possibilities of currency risks in commerce banks of Latvia; to clarify the opinion of commerce banks of Latvia on management issues of currency risks and to analyze risk reduction proposals of Latvian Bank for commerce banks. The Diploma Work consists of three parts and subdivisions. The kinds of currency deals of commerce banks are described at the first part of Diploma Work, the second part is devoted to the issue how to reduce currency risks, using hedging and derived financial instruments. At the third part, the Author investigated proposed currency operations in commerce banks of Latvia and analyzed a common subordination of Latvian banks to the currency risk. The monographic and expert methods, economic analysis, investigation of statistical data and analysis, problem analysis were used for solving assignments. The theoretical literature, the newest scientific literature and publications, scientific monographies and publications on Latvian Bank, International Currency Fund, as well as information provided by Madara Gutshmite, the Manager of the Department of Client Service of JSC „Hansabanka” on currency operations proposed by JSC „Hansabanka” and risk reduction deals to make conclusions, sistematize and theoretically substantiate both investigations, and experience of other authors, and own personal ones are used for the implementation of goals and assignments of the Work.
