Latviešu sievietes tēls sieviešu žurnālu tekstos un attēlos (1934-1940)

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs veltīts latviešu sievietes tēla atspoguļojumam Kārļa Ulmaņa autoritārā režīma laika sieviešu žurnālu tekstos un attēlos. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt latviešu sievietes tēlu, izmantojot sieviešu žurnālus, autoritārā režīma ideologu darbus un politiķu runu publikācijas, kā arī arhīva materiālus un zinātnisko literatūru, lai noteiktu sabiedrības attieksmi pret sieviešu jautājumu. Galvenie secinājumi liecina, ka dominējošais latvietes tēls sieviešu žurnālos bija pašuzupurēties spējīga māte un sieva jeb tipiska ģimenes sieviete, kura ar savu darbu privātajā sfērā rūpējas arī par tautas un valsts interesēm. Savukārt dažas sievietes, liberālā feminisma ideju iedvesmotas, atbalstīja vienlīdzīgas tiesības ar vīrieti uz izglītību, algotu darbu un sabiedrisko darbību.

The Bachelor’s Paper is devoted to the reflection of the image of a Latvian woman in women’s magazines both in articles and images during the authoritarian regime of Karlis Ulmanis. The aim of the Paper is to study Latvian woman’s image using women’s magazines, ideological works and publications of politicians’ speeches during the authoritarian regime as well as archive materials and scientific literature to evaluate the attitude of society to female gender.The main conclusions: the dominating image of a Latvian woman in women’s magazines was reflected as a mother and wife ready to sacrifice herself, that is, a typical family woman whose work in private sector contributes to the interests of her nation and country. Nevertheless some women inspired by the ideas of liberal feminism supported equal gender rights to education, paid jobs and public activities.
