Abstract

Universitātes, lai tās varētu paaugstināt savu konkurētspēju globālajā vidē, ir ieinteresētas nodrošināt saviem studentiem labākus mācību apstākļus, lai viņi gūtu augstākus akadēmiskos panākumus. Turpretī studenti ir ieinteresēti gūt augstākus akadēmiskos panākumus, jo viņu individuālie sasniegumi universitātē ietekmēs viņu panākumus tālākā nākotnē. Visplašāk pielietotais ekvivalents, kas palīdz „izmērīt” studentu akadēmiskos panākumus, ir viņu vidējā atzīme. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt, kādi faktori ietekmē studentu vidējo atzīmi, un cik lielā mērā tā tiek ietekmēta. Aplūkojot pētījumā iegūtos rezultātus, tiek secināts, ka paši būtiskākie faktori, kas ietekmē universitāšu studentu vidējās atzīmes, ir studenta akadēmiskie panākumi iepriekšējās mācību iestādēs (r=0,464), lekcijām atvēlētais laiks (r=0,615), un studentu izvēlētā mācību programma (vidējās atzīmes starpība starp programmām var pārsniegt veselu balli). Bakalaura darbs sastāv no 68 lappusēm, 39 tabulām, un 5 attēliem.

In order to improve their competitiveness in a global environment, universities are concerned to provide better learning conditions for their students so that they could gain higher academic success. On other hand students are concerned to gain higher academic success because they individual achievements at universities will affect their achievements in future. The most widely used equivalent which helps to measure the academic success of students is they average grade. The goal of research is to find out which are the factors and what extent these factors affect the academic success of students. Examining the research results, there are made conclusions that most essential factors which affect university students’ average grades are they academic success at their previous educational institutions (r=.464), the time spent in lectures (r=.615), and the chosen program by student (the difference among programs may exceed a full grade point).
