Migrācija no MS Windows NT 4.0 uz MS Windows Server 2008 R2

Abstract

Šis darbs ir par „Microsoft Windows NT 4.0” aizvietošanu jeb, tā saukto migrāciju, ar jaunāku un mūsdienīgāku operētājsistēmu „Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2”. Darbā apskatīta uzņēmumā jau eksistējoša informācijas sistēma, un secināts, ka tajā pastāvošie domēna kontrolieri, kas uztur domēnu, mūsdienu prasībām ir novecojuši. Tiek apskatītas ar tiem saistītās problēmas un iespējas aizstāt tos ar jaunāku programmatūru, saglabājot to funkciju un nepieciešamos datus, kas ir ļoti būtiski esošajā datortīklā. Migrācijas process risinās divos posmos, vispirms veicot pāreju uz „MS Windows Server 2003 R2” un pēc tam uz „MS Windows Server 2008 R2”. Darba rezultātā tiek izveidoti divi jauni, noskaņoti un funkcionējoši domēna kontrolieri ar vairākām lomām, kas spēj nodrošināt nepieciešamās funkcijas.

The topic of this paper is replacement (or so called migration) of MS Windows NT 4.0 with more up-to-date operating system MS Windows Server 2008 R2. An already existing information system of a company is examined, and it is concluded that information system’s domain controllers maintaining the domain are out-of-date. Issues concerning the domain controllers are examined along with the options of replacement with newer software that would maintain controllers’ function and necessary data crucial to the existing computer network. The process of migration is carried out in two stages: the first stage is the transition to MS Windows Server 2003 R2; the second stage is transition to MS Windows Server 2008 R2. As a result, two new, configured and functioning multi-role domain controllers that can perform the necessary functions are created.
