Abstract
Mūsdienās arvien lielāka uzmanība tiek veltīta vides stāvoklim pilsētās. Augsnes resursiem ir liela nozīme pilsētas dzīvē. Jebkurš apkārtējās vides piesārņojums
atspoguļojas tieši augsnē. Tāpēc dzīvnieki ir universāls bioindikators, kas brīdina par apkārtējās vides stāvokli un pat par augsnes veidošanās procesa virzieniem. Mans bakalaura darba mērėis ir veikt augsnes mezofaunas salīdzinājumu dažādos Rīgas pilsētas biotopos. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no astoņām nodaļām. Tajā sniegta vispārīga
informācija par augsnēm pilsētā, kā arī augsnes mezofaunas vispārīgs raksturojums.
Tiek aprakstīti augsnes mezofaunas pētījumi dažās Eiropas pilsētās.
Nodaļā “Materiāli un metodes” aprakstīta lauka darbos un laboratorijas pētījumos izmatotās metodes. Darbā iekļauti arī pētījumu rezultāti, kuri atspoguļoti tabulās un grafikos.

Nowadays more and more attention is payed to environmental situation in urban areas. The soil resource of these areas plays a vital role in the life of the city. Every environmental pollution reflects directly in the soil. That’s why soil organisms are universal bioindicator that warns about the environmental situation and even about the ways in which soil could form. The aim of my bachelor project is to make a comparison of mesofauna in different biotopes of the Riga city. This bachelor work consists of eight chapters. It provides general information on soils in the city, as well as information about soil mesofauna. There is also information about soil researches in some European countries. In the chapter “Materials and methods” are discrabed methods which were used in field and laboratory works. In the end of this work you can see the results of the research which are displayed in tables and diagrams. Keywords: Riga, soil, mesofauna, indicator.
