Virdžīnijas Vulfas literārais modernisms un feminisms

Abstract

Divdesmitā gadsimta jaunā Modernisma kustība satrieca fundamentālās literārās tradīcijas ar milzīgu dzejnieku un rakstnieku savdabīgu un eksperimentālu literatūras darbu daudzumu. Šis bakalaura darbs aplūko Modernisma ietekmi uz romānistes un feministes Virdžīnijas Vulfas priekšstatiem par romāna formu un sižetu. Lai sasniegtu šī darba mērķi, autors izpētīja vairākus stāstījuma paņēmienus, ko Virdžīnija Vulfa pielietoja divos savos ievērojamākos darbos Delovejas kundze un Orlando. Turklāt uzmanība tika pievērsta arī viņas feministiskajiem uzskatiem. Rezultātā, tas atļāva izsekot rakstnieces nodomus par jaunā romāna tapšanu, kas ir rakstīts ar sievietes roku un ir daudz patiesāks un neatkarīgāks literārais darbs par iepriekšējo gadsimtu romāniem. The new Modernism movement of the twentieth century shattered the fundamental literary traditions with a vast number of poets and writers’ original and experimental works. The present Bachelor paper focuses on the influence of Modernism upon the novelist and feminist Virginia Woolf’s concepts of the form and plot of the contemporary novel. To achieve the aim of the Present paper, its author explored a number of narrative techniques applied by Virginia Woolf in her two notable novels Mrs. Dalloway and Orlando: A Biography. Besides, the attention was paid to the writer’s feminist views. In the result, that allowed to trace her intentions to create a new novel that is written by a woman and is more real and independent literary work than the novels of the previous centuries.
